I thought Gerrard was excellent today but seemed to be a bit leggy in the last fifteen, twenty minutes

Yip! From what I saw and having been one of his detractors, he did what was needed Well done Stevie!. Think Sahin still has a way to go to perform at peak in the PL.
Probably because for the first time all season he's actually put in the required effort for the game.
We miss Lucas soooooooooo bad, our midfield gets by passed so easily and way to often. I never thought a few years ago that Lucas being out injured could be so significant to us. The sooner he gets back the better
But that's more what we want. 60-80 minutes at full throttle then bring on Hendo et al to let him off.
Agreed. He really surprised me and he actually looked like he can adapt to this system. Pressed well, won the ball and passed efficiently. Slightly disappointed with Sahin - wasn't a poor match by an standards but I know he is capable of more. For all of the missed chances and wastefulness from Suarez - did he really travel half way around the world this week and play a football match, then return to LFC? Would never have guessed - always gives it 100%.
To add to the point Jimmy makes about Suarez and his travelling, he was also limping for a lot of the second half.
I still think we are better off doing it the other way around. Hendo off at 60-70 mins and Gerrard fresh and ****ing over the opposition defence.
Henderson has done Lucas's role well in Europe. He should get a go in the league. Some table facts: We are now joint on points with Newcastle and above them on GD. We are now just three points behind Arsenal (But they have not played yet). We are 5 points behind Everton (4th) and Tottenham (5th). We are closer in points to the top 4 than the relegation zone. Our next three league games are tough ones against Everton, Newcastle and Chelsea. Get points in these and we can jump up the table. Newcastle and Everton are especially key games in the battle for 4th.
Everton, Newcastle & Arsenal have games in hand on us though so doesn't really mean anything until the gameweek is over.
Give us some lottery numbers Kop?? Agreed, didn't cost us, but could have got us a more comfortable result...
No complaints from the Reading lads guys. We were dangerously overstretched for much of the game, it looked very uncomfortable from our side. To be honest we were a bit lucky to be still looking for an equalizer at the finish. I think you're a bit of the 'sleeping giant' syndrome, some lovely passing out there, balls into space, just needs to click a bit more in the finishing and you'll be whizzing up the table. For us Royals, it's a long hard think again. Three seasons runnimng we've started slowly, but this time in the Premier there's no charity around. Now we've got an easier run of games coming up; we have to take advantage next 6 games or it might be gloom all season. Anyway, no-one is seriously doubting Brian McDermott (tet anyway). All the very best lads ... anyway, I'll be looking in on here. daib0
Cheers. Personally I thought you looked poor today, and only our profligacy infront of goal meant you didn't lose by 5 or 6 goals. Early days though, and all you need is one lucky win and I suspect that'll give you a bit of confidence to kick on. Its just about getting that first win for you at the moment. But you need it soon as the gap between you and safety will grow and grow until you get that win.
Realistically, I think we're looking at finishing sixth or seventh at best off current form and scoring. If we finally get another striker in, (by that I mean an out and out striker, who plays mainly in and around the box and is there to put the ball away when it matters), during the next window then we might be able to aim higher. On strikers, does anyone think Borini could be the next Dirk Diggler? Work hard for the team for 90, chip in with the odd goal, but not prolific.
