Frig me, we've being WUMmed by Aberdeen fans now! Some skirt wearing, ginger, tight wad jock has voted for Hearts on the poll, ruining the 100% Liverpool to win vote.
And oh no, Iâve been imprecisely maligned by an effete, sexually uptight, oil-stealing, politically inarticulate mummyâs boy with staggeringly misplaced delusions of grandeur based almost exclusively on a wilfully ignorant misreading of history as taught to him by a terminally third rate â up to and including university level - education system. And Iâm not ginger. But hello. Itâs always good to get the national stereotypes out of the way early doors, yes? It lets everyone know where they stand and boldly advertises to the world that any given perpetrator of such tired, cliche-ridden and intellectually-lazy abuse is very probably riven with angst about the dismayingly small size of both his bank account and penis. Which is a really great look, to be fair, and one Iâve always been extra super keen to project. Anyway, all numbingly laddish banter aside, I happen to feel that itâs perfectly legitimate to predict a Hearts win. And by âlegitimateâ, of course, I mean âinsaneâ. (I often get these two words mixed up.) Having scrupulously failed to study the form book, however, I base my prediction on a unique collation of hope, unreasonable projection and a temporary flight from the niggling constraints of evidence-based reality. Iâm comfortable with this approach and fully expect to be vindicated by the end of the night. And the âvindicatedâ in that last sentence, of course, as Iâm sure you can already begin to imagine, may be entirely interchangeable with the words âcomprehensively proven wrongâ. But still. Iâm allowed to hope, Noblelox. Youâll surely give me that? In any event, Iâm only here because of this seeming invitation to participate in the poll left by a Liverpool fan on the Hearts board: Take it easy.....
Welcome, good to have a rival fan on this thread. Hope you stay during the game, just watch out for all the chav and scum fans.
Thanks! And even though I'm an Aberdeen fan, I'm looking forward to the game. (I missed the first game, unfortunately, but understand that it was pretty tight and that Hearts acquitted themselves well - save for a disastrous own goal towards the end, obviously.) I'll certainly aim to look in here during the game, but with a houseguest staying (God help me) my time is pretty limited and I can't be seen to be too anti-social, alas.
As jaffa says, Hope you are here for the match, always good to have rival fans for the game......Bring your pals!
If only I had some. Now I just feel sad again (insert mopey face here). But thanks for the nice welcome and I'll hopefully see you around. Take it easy.....
Create multiple profiles and post party fashion, giving the impression you are all having a really good time.......people will soon want to join in and this site will be jammed up with Hearts fans...... Everyone on this board is really just ted from ludlow, i know i am!!
What an excellent idea. I’ll soon enough be the envy of the site, as people look in on the party atmosphere I’ve created and marvel at my seeming popularity. It’ll also be just great to have these other multiple accounts nodding along in agreement at all my wise and funny words – a timely boost to my flagging self-esteem. You may just have given my life meaning, Ted from Ludlow, for which fact I'm bound to remain grateful. You maybe slightly overlook the fact, however, that I may already be Ted from Ludlow as well. I have no real way of knowing, as it happens, and may have slightly overlooked this fact myself. Nightmare. Kind regards etc.... Ted
You're Scottish-what else is there but hope? We love a bit of racial stereotyping here, everyone knows that. Hope you stick around, it's good to have a different point of view (as opposed to mindless wumming from the mancs). Just watch out for the creepy ones. Hearts did do well in the first leg, they certainly weren't outplayed, but surely the scoreline and home advantage will see us through? Still should be an interesting game though. On a different note, guys. why isn't the Channel 5 cup on Channel 5 any more?
http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/no-hearts-debut-for-assaidi Oussama Assaidi is not eligible to play in Liverpool's Europa League play-off matches against Hearts. The Morocco winger, who became the club's third summer signing on Friday, is cup tied having featured for Heerenveen in the qualifying rounds. However, he will be available should Liverpool reach the group stages. The squad travel from John Lennon Airport to Edinburgh on Wednesday afternoon before training at Tynecastle Stadium.
You're probably right. And in the face of a request (with menaces) from the all-powerful, all-seeing Hash, there is little to do but comply. Fair point. I'm not interested in cheap wums, the mere thought bores me senseless. Disagreement? No worries. Friendly arguments? Excellent. But anything else.....not so much. As for Hearts, you could be right. I want them to win, obviously, but accept that this may be seen as unlikely. Without wishing to sound too much like some hackneyed football pundit, of course, but if they can hold it together for the first twenty or so minutes....well, it could get interesting. That's got to be the hope, anyway. Right so, I need to get on with the day (for a bit) and pretend to do some work.
Hopes this clears up the confusion: http://sport.stv.tv/football/clubs/...ity-of-cup-tied-players-in-uefa-competitions/ If Carroll plays tonight hes cup tied for the group stages even if Liverpool lost. HE WONT PLAY If Heerenveen get through to the group stages Assadi cant play for Liverpool.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Here is the official UEFA document: http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles.../Regulations/01/62/69/60/1626960_DOWNLOAD.pdf And the important bit from page 27: 18.07 As a rule, a player may not play in a UEFA club competition (i.e. UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League, but not UEFA Super Cup) for more than one club in the course of the same season. Exceptionally, however, a player who has been fielded in the first, second or third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League for another club as from the group stage, provided that his former club did not qualify for the group stage of either the UEFA Champions League or the UEFA Europa League; moreover, as from the start of the round of 32 (round of 16 for UEFA Champions League), a player can be registered in accordance with paragraphs 18.18 to 18.21 below. A substitute player who has not been fielded is entitled to play for another club competing in the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League in the course of the same season, provided that he is registered with the UEFA administration in accordance with the present regulations.
I've read different. Guess we will have to wait and see, Molde are 2-0 up against Heerenveen so it looks like it won't be an issues anyway Edit:
