Snatched at it a bit, but nice positioning by Suso and movement by the team yet again.

Downing playing well again, looks like he's actually getting a few good performances on a run. I'd keep him at this rate. Looks more like the player we thought we were buying.

Problem with Downing as a squad player is he's on 75k a week.

Excellent first half.

Dominated the play and taken the chances. If we can keep it up in the second half, we can be on for a good scoreline.

Pretty happy with the game so far!

 

Good half, Fulham have been very, very poor but that's mainly due to our impressive pressing. Gerrard, Downing and Lucas are arguably the stand out players at the moment. Good finish by Skrtel, scoring early is always important, it really took the edge out of the game. Hopefully we can keep things tight in the second half and go on to add a couple more. As it stands we're 9th, the highest we've been all season.

 

Gerrard = Alonso role
Lucas = Mascherano role

fulham have been **** today. we, on the other hand, have looked excellent.

 

The difference today is the opposition! Fulham are awful and their midfield is even worse!

 

It's important that our players don't sit back in the second half, this game is NOT won yet. A lot can happen in 45 minutes so we have to keep our concentration

 

The thing with Downing is, he was under the illusion the World was going to end so knew no matter how crap he played, he wouldn't be sold as everything would be over by Jan. Now he's realised that's not the case he's decided to put a shift in

Fulham have been awful so far, problem is, they can only get better in the 2nd half. Hope we don't take foot off in the second half, need a good 4 or 5 nil win here as GD could prove vital with the table being so tight!

 

I'm going to go against everyone here, and I know this may seem negative but I'm not even impressed with Downing's pass.

It doesn't seem like he meant to really fool everyone with this tricky pass but that he genuinely didn't know where to send it. There was no one in that space to run onto it, Gerrard had to swerve crazily to get that ball on target.

If Gerrard had missed we would be slating Stewart for that, but he didn't luckily for us.

 

Even if we win, over the last 2 games Spurs have gained a point and Arsenal 3. With Stoe up next, we are very much still a mid table team.
