Really don't think Cole should play for us again, we cant afford to drop points giving him yet another "second" chance.
Downing at least comes up with the goods now and again.

Agree he's missed a few easy ones, but remember that despite us playing others up front -- Morgan, Yesil, Sinclair, Pacheco, Borini -- he's still scored a few goals for us. Suarez aside, he and Sahin are our joint top scorers with 3 goals. Our midfield, despite not getting tons of goals, are doing better than our second tier strikers (admittedly we've only got 1 first tier striker!).

So, all in all, Jonjo playing further up the pitch wouldn't bother me that much. Rather it was Suarez, if we really want to win it, although I'd still rest him for Swansea if it was up to me.

In other news, Danny Wilson has joined Bristol City on a 2 month emergency loan deal.

My only explanation as to why BR is persisting with Cole and Downing is to get their form up so they can be sold, an extra goal or two should make them slightly more attractive. Worked for me in FIFA when I had to flog Downing and no one wanted him

I like to look at it as at least he got those chances this season. The youngsters who aren't ready for the first team upfront haven't had many chances at all and the likes of Cole are just useless. Saying that, I would still give Yesil/Morgan the game.

True -- and if they can progress us in Europe at the same time: everybody's happy!

Alex: Glad to see Danny get another loan deal, he needs to be playing regularly in order to develop and, TBH, he has a lot of people ahead of him in the pecking order here.

He showed a lot of potential at Rangers. Let hope this loan deal will start to develop the young lad into yet another good defender for us.

P.S. Anyone think Joe Cole might get a goal tonight? ;)

I know Shelvey misses some great chances but at least he gets into the positions to miss them. He has a knack of driving into the box and finding space.

It will be an interesting experiement but I'm not expecting much from the front 3 in terms of creativity with the exception of Assaidi.
