Penalty to Liverpool. Morgan is taken down by the Dortmund 'keeper when he is played in and it's a penalty. Coady steps up and smashes it home. 2-0 Liverpool.
Should be 3-0. Good play between Smith & Adorjan on the left-hand side gets Adorjan into the penalty box and he plays the ball across to Morgan who has an open goal... Goes to stroke it home and a Dortmund defender comes across and puts in an outstanding block. Cleared by Dortmund but it should really be 3-0. If Morgan had got a bit of height on the shot, it's 3-0. It's not though.
Half-Time: Liverpool 2-0 Borussia Dortmund. Excellent half from Liverpool. Kept Dortmund quiet in an attacking sense and worked their defence hard. Coady with both goals. First was a header from a Brad Smith cross and his second was a penalty after Adam Morgan was fouled. I think the play on the left-hand side has been excellent with the link-up play between Brad Smith and Kristian Adorjan looking good. Special mention has to go to Smith. His attacking play has been very good. Working well on that side and produced a delightful ball for Coady's first goal. Hasn't had anything to worry about from a defensive point of view. Looking good so far. Let's keep it up in the second half!
Not too much to report in the opening 15 minutes of the second half. Dortmund made a couple of changes at half-time and they have improved. No clear-cut chances to write about but Dortmund are playing better than they did in the first-half and have had a lot more of the ball. As I type, they have made two more changes. That's four changes for Dortmund and none yet for Liverpool.
Another chance for Liverpool. McLaughlin gets into the box and to the byline. Plays it to the six-yard box where Adorjan tries to flick it in. Comes off the outside of the post, bounces back towards the goalkeeper and he collects it. Unlucky.
3-0. Adorjan plays in Morgan who does well to stay onside and get in between the Dortmund centre-backs. Goes round the 'keeper and slots it home. Adam Morgan with the goal and it's 3-0 Liverpool.
And Liverpool make a second change as Jordan Ibe comes off and he is replaced by Kristoffer Peterson.
Could be 4-0 and the call for goal-line technology increases... Coady is played in on the right-hand side and he goes to chip the Dortmund 'keeper and it comes off the bar and bounces down. Think Lampard in the 2010 World Cup. Replays show that it was on the line. Didn't go in and a great call from the linesman. All he had to do was slot it home. Didn't really need to try and chip the keeper to be honest.
Full-Time: Liverpool 3-0 Borussia Dortmund. An excellent performance from the side tonight. Thought we were excellent in the first-half with the link-up play between Brad Smith & Kristian Adorjan looking very good. Great ball in by Smith for Coady to head home the first goal. The second goal was deserved as Morgan was fouled by the Dortmund 'keeper and Coady smashed home the resulting penalty. In the second half, I thought Dortmund improved but still weren't good enough. Didn't create enough in an attacking sense and gave no service to the Dortmund striker. We had a few chances and took one as Morgan was played in by Adorjan and he rounded the 'keeper before slotting the ball home. Could have had a couple more with a few good chances missed. All in all, pretty happy with the night's work. Good first result & performance for our new reserve team manager, Alex Inglethorpe, and he'll be happy. Also found out that the best four sides who finish 3rd in their group go through, If we beat Inter in our final group game, we'll go through.
