Can't quite believe this, it just doesn't seem real. I hope the players get ripped a new one at half time.
Downing goes into the defence and yet again we concede goals. Get Wisdom on for Downing, and move him to RB and Johnson to LB.
Tempted to say take Shelvey off for Wisdom and push Downing forward, it looks up for this. Maybe wanting to prove the boo boys wrong?
Combination of Allen and Downing for their second, neither spotted the run and/or followed it til too late. Their first goal came from nowhere and tbh, was a good shot. Downing's played well, but it's obvious he's not a defender - would take off Shelvey first though for Wisdom.
I swear, Im starting to actively dislike our front players. Professional, panic to a ****ing man when they get the ball in a scoring position. Says a lot when our Official LB & RB's look more decisive at goal. We're missing Enrique in forward positions for gods sake!
Individually maybe but as a back 4 it clearly doesn't work with him there. He's not a defender, he never will be and chances are he won't be here much longer. Why play him in a position he doesnt want to play in and isn't good at playing in only to sell him a fw months later when we could be giving Wisdom more chances which he definatelyeserves.
Can we please play all our games away? I do not know why, but we play much better away than home. What's the reason? Can anybody explain?
I don't know how we can change things up... Apart from maybe two or three lapses we've dominated. Yet we're 2-0 down and don't look much like scoring. There's a depressing lack of options on our bench.
Simple really. We like to pass the ball and exploit space. Home teams can't sit back like away teams can because the fans won't accept it therefore they have to try and attack more. By attacking more they leave space to be exploited
Teams sit back and expect us to break them down and can then counter when we are at home. When away, teams tend to come out to play more, leaving more space to work in. Or some of the players can't take the pressure of playing at Anfield.
We play good at home, but our forwards bottle it. Then we give the ball away cheaply, the other team breaks, and scores from their first shot. Standard
Pressure ... Cork City went through this in 2010 when they were reformed. They couldn't buy a win at home but went away and annihilated teams.
