Holy crap is that 3 Blues now! I actually didn't mean anything against Moyes there, was more the idea of taking one manager who's experience is limited to "mid table teams" & replacing him with one with more experience in the same place & the odd jaunt up the table. We are currently a mid table quality team with the possibility of improvement. What's the point in searching for world class managers who can't do anymore with this squad and who will have no more money to spend and the same incompetents in the back ground except they'd have even more pressure on them to do the impossible which is miraculously making this set of players challengers within a couple of seasons. Not going to happen. silk purse/sows ear here at the mo. I think we have a few players who can develop but we are woefully short of challenging for anything. Anyway; I'm just doing my usual negativity on match day, I'll calm down a remember that this is year 1 in a long long process. There will be plenty of steps back as well as forward. And Micah, that's my emphasis: continuously using managers as scapegoats is deluding yourself with the idea this squad can do more than they are in the time they've been given. It ain't going to happen that way. People need phased out & new smart intelligent additions need added. But yes: Brendan please please stop making statements like that. Did Rafa's rant show you nothing?
Played and lost today, got in the car after playing and the first thing I hear is that we lost 3-1 to Villa at Home. I take it we were poor today
Depends how you look at it. We dominated possession (72:28) and created a fair few chances (26 shots, 17 on target) plus quite a few other chances were we just didn't shoot for whatever reason. But, on the other side of the coin Villa sat back and played counter-attacking football which worked fantastically well for them. Basically, it was the usual story
Can anybody give me a summary of this match? I've been out all day and a bit surprised at the fact you lost, did Sterling play?
Yeah he played. Dominated possession but we were dreadful in the final third. We lost the ball cheaply for our goals, they broke and made the most of their chances. In other words, a standard Liverpool match
One game baron run for Jelavic? oh no! Sould get a three game ban without doubt. I don't think anybody has any sympathy towards Stoke players though.
Match Report: Liverpool were superb in possession today as they passed their way to a 3-1 defeat to Villa. Stewart Downing was his usual gloriously **** self probably and Liverpool had 74% of the ball. Possession people, POSSESSION. Steven Gerrard scored a late goal to put the cherry on top of the possession. Villa also played some part in the match. Barely touched the ball and all they got were 3 goals for their troubles. A wasted journey.
