Lets be honest I would have taken 4 points from our first 3 games - Win v West Brom, and a Draw/Lose against City/Arsenal. It's just a shame we had a shocker v West Brom otherwise we would have been going ok.

Looks it's 3 games in, yes we only have 1 point but we only 1 point behind Spurs as well. Let's wait until we get through our rough start and the games should start getting a little more winable after sunderland next week

A clever flick by Suarez finds Downing who breaks free on the right. Downing crosses.... and DEMPSEY!!! Scores on his debut. CLINT DEMPSEY!

Here's a thing to do, when we get 30 yards out, pause and look at where all the Liverpool players are. I'll tell you were they are not, they are not in any space. There is no movement, and the midfield simply have no choices open to them. So we stroke it around, until someone says "**** it" and has a speculative shot from way out, or will float a cross in, where the defence will gladly mop up. And it all comes to nothing. It is all just wasteful and pointless. God knows where a goal will come from, but it won't come from playing like this.

Shelvey to start instead of Gerrard, who frankly has been absolute dross.

Great strike by Shelvey. Has been better in the 20 mins on the pitch than gerrard has in 90.

Shelvey has been 100times better than Gerrard since he came on. Brilliant effort just then and deserved a goal.

If I was him I'd be asking why the hell I'm not in the squad after my performances against City & now Arsenal.

Shelvey has been good lately, but I think he should learn to control his passes. He's a bit sloppy in possession sometimes, he gets a voice in his ear to tell him to try something audacious. Other than that he's really improved a lot.

Shelvey has earned a starting place.

I'm not sure Gerrard still does. He is capable of some moments of inspiration... he reminds me of Beckham few years back... few good kicks to keep public happy but mostly way past it.

Maybe if Gerrard is on the bench for a few games he will get his drive back.

    Borini definately needs benching.
