Really slow start. Midfield three mostly hitting hopeful long balls for Borini. Have really struggled to link with the wide players, who are playing a bit deeper than Borini, making it almost a flat midfield 5 off the ball.
No worries, Im sure they will improve as the game goes on...For some of the players is their first action of the season
they should have scored there. we need to sort ourselves out at half time or we will have to come back strong at home to go through.

Jones ****s up and doesn't collect a long ball into the box. Corner, nothing from it. Very sloppy so far.
Midfield trio of Henderson, Gerrard and Spearing is rather uninspiring and I could have guessed that before the start of the game. We have a number of CM's but no real quality.
We do seem to be off the pace. I had concerns about the physicality of our pre-season, especially with a lot of them main players being missing so long.
Best moment, Enrique getting down the left crosses and Borini not quite getting enough on the header.
To make us look better, I would take off downing...Move Gerrard to RF, Sterling to his favoured LF and get Shelvey on to help out in CM........
