Two things... In the Poll, I signed it just before kick-off, I said we'd lose, so anyone who is signed AFTER me, can just **** OFF!!! If you can't make a call before the game, we don't give a flying **** what you think after the event, you're not big, you're ****ing not clever! also, Henderson is ****e, and will never make it at a big club. Take that to the bank.
Im a big fan of Brendan but i said before kick off that he is wrong about leaving the senior players at home.....A game you would have won if Brendan had fielded a side that would win with ease....he has made things much harder now...
Depends what we do against Chelsea really. If we win or draw and play well then he'll be vindicated. If we lose and play poorly then he'll be criticised for losing two games on the bounce, when one was winnable.
Yeah but if he'd taken the big players and we'd still lost Sunday then he'd get just as much if not more grief. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't Personally once we'd beaten Anzhi at home I felt he'd be right to rest a lot of the team before the Chelski game. If we lose Sunday it won't be because we lost last night it'll be because their squad is a hell of a lot stronger than ours.
Agree with all of that. But you know, as I do, that the media and a lot of our fans won't accept that Chelsea are better than us if we lose and that it would've been irresponsible to send our senior players on a 3000-4000 mile round trip for a game that isn't crucial when we have a big game just 3 days later. As you say, he would be criticised either way if we don't get a result against Chelsea.
Don't get me wrong I think Suso's a class act I just don't think he was particularly effective when he came on. Yes he beat players but doing that when you have a better option (sometimes two options) doesn't help. It's part of the problem with having a lack of senior players on the pitch, there's no-one to tell him to play with his head up. Oh and saying he's better than Downing is just like saying having nothing for breakfast is better than having a bowl of **** for breakfast
Exactly he made the right decision last night IMO but it will mean very little on Sunday except maybe the rested players will be on for the full 90 which will only be any use if we aren't already getting slaughtered Despite us having a decent record at the Chavs recently I have low expectations for Sunday (although high hopes of course). I think they brought in a lot of class players this summer and we will undoubtedly miss Lucas and the impact a player like Maxi has had recently against them. We are where we are however and I just hope we give them a good game (and Torres doesn't score).
All it means is, that the game against Young Boys at home is critical, we must win it. Should we do that, all we need is a point from our game against Udinese to qualify.
You might think that, since you support a small club. You may sit in fear of an over the hill Eto'o or some Portsmouth player, but having played them twice and put the reserves out for the second game, I know that they are ****. We happily finish the group in second, and if we meet them again next year in a later round, we know we can finish them off, especially when we have strikers to play against them.
