Yeah, or Spurs (neither performance was perfect, but the resilience and ability shown proved we deserve to be where we are in the table!)

We're few and far between on this site sadly,Father Hackett needs to do a bit more preaching.
I suspect a few will jump ship from the prawn sarnie munchers in Trafford soon enough.
If the freak Obertan isn't playing who will provide your width?

We're not sure. Marveaux is out too and Pardew has a knack of playing Lovenkrands or Guthrie out there but with Guthrie likely to be in the middle alongside Cabaye and with Ben Arfa and Santon now fit and ready I can see one of them starting. Preferably Santon on the right to cover Simpson at RB and Ben Arfa "in the hole" just behind Ba, given a free role, as that seems to be his natural position.

Despite pardew saying this was what he wanted to play pre season i think he's had a rethink due to our season so far and seems reluctant to play that system now forgot about lover so can see that happening which would be a big fat <doh>

I don't see him playing Lovenkrands against Man City. Pardew makes the odd baffler here and there but that would be suicidal and he'll know it. I can see him putting Santon there and having him rotate roles with Simpson, or at least tell him to stay defensively minded.
I'm not one to want to play Santon out of position but he is very much an attacking right back anyway, if we played him at right back in a game like this we'd be exposed as hell whereas introducing him in a right wing position could prove successful if he continues to go forward as usual and puts in a decent shift helping out Simpson.

If the hint about Sammy having a huge role is true, I can see Sammy starting on the right, however I don't think he will throw Santon into the fire in this game...He's been trying to ease him into the English game and I doubt Pardew would want to risk him on the right like that.. As I see it, Sammy to start, HBA may replace him later on as the game progresses..

City generally play narrow and look to the full backs to provide width.Still our biggest concern is stopping balls coming in from the wings which few have exploited

I'm intrigued to see the line up and tactics. Am I wrong in thinking Ben Arfa played out wide against Everton in THAT game? I know we'd have to be concious of covering our own fullbacks, but I don't know if Sammy is strong enough to do that...Santon is a decent shout and I'd love to see more of him, but honestly, if it was between Sammy, Santon and Ben Arfa, I'd be excited regardless!

Should be a good game this, I look forward to hearing the scoreline after we're all celebrating the fact we beat West Brom 3-0. (If we get beat 3-0 after I said that, I will cry :p)

Good luck, hope you run at them instead of letting them run at you. Smashing low crosses from the wing into your strikers got us a goal against City (we lost 3-2) and you're better than us :)

Good luck in your match too. Though I wouldn't mind seeing you cry.

Both Ben Arfa and Sammy are weak defensively so if they both play then much respect to Pardew for his boldness. Certainly no one could say we're going there to park the bus at the very least.
