    Still does this though;

    "SLOW BOAT TO OLD TRAFFORDThu 8th Mar, 2012

    Hi,

    The season has started again, and the Princess Katherine plies its way up the Irwell to Old Trafford for all home matches.

    Travel in style and avoid traffic jams and unnecessary frustration. Enjoy a meal and drink in the Mark Addy beforehand, and return there for the dissection of the match, and to explore expert opinion.

    The boat leaves one hour before kick-off returning 20 minutes after full-time.

    The Fixtures are listed, and the cost is £11 return. Bookings at the MA at 01618324080 or at [email protected].

    Fixtures : 10.3 WBA 24.3 Fulham 8.4 QPR 14.4 Aston Villa 21.4 Everton 5.5 Swansea

    As Europa Fixtures are updated, we will of course adjust the schedule.

    Enjoy !"

    Now, if we're doing river envy, does the Mersey do that?

    Our river is to wide to do anything like that and we'd have to get on a barge at the Pier Head on the Leeds-Liverpool canal to get close to Anfied.

    The Mersey seperates our side from the one eyed city and the squirrel's from the Wirral.

    You can get a pint and a sandwich on the Mersey Ferry cruise and we can sail to Llandudno and Rhyl in the summer season.

    yeah so bloody an important city they by pass the dump by building a ship canal nearly 40 miles long to make a dock in City miles from the sea! and all the ****e from stockport and the rest of cheshire flushes downsteam ,,,, to the world's biggest sess pit!

    Now if you want stunning and wide estuaries have gander around North Wales they've got loads of 'em!

    Yeah,and the sewage pays a visit to a few Manchester locations first on its journey from the pennines to the Irish Sea.

    <laugh>

    The canal was built by Mancunian's to avoid paying docks fees to The Mersey Docks and Harbour Board in Liverpool(now the they avoid paying their landlords the rent instead),The River Dee estuary is stunning.

    Not too hot on his economic histroy old Tunns is he? Even at the hight of its activity, Manchester was still only taking the overspill from Liverpool.

    I'll agree that North Wales does have some stunning estuaries but few of them would have been any use as a major port and most of them are silting - the Dee being a classic example.

    The Dee at Parkgate is a prime example of the silting up dave.

    Artificially so! if you read the little information board at the roadside in Parkgate, it tells you that modifications were made to ensure the Wales side of the river remained open to shipping.

    Funniest quote I've seen all year and think it'll still be there come December - You are constantly berating us and you have the audacity to make a claim of other fans being obssessed by you, please my ribs hurt from all the laughing!
