Aye, this is true. My judgement in this area is probably flawed by the fact that I can't quite make the mental leap to a point at which Utd would actually be competing for fourth spot rather than first spot (Cue foreskindave popping up to tell me that his crystal ball says we'll be competing for fourth spot next season ) Actually that's an interesting hypothetical one - would you rather Utd compete for the league title all the way till the end of the season but just lose out at the death and end the season trophyless, or sit comfortably in third all season with no chance of challenging for the title but win the FA Cup?
happy days mate. I can't touch the stuff these days any form of smoking and I react like some big girly! I only have to sniff a cigarette from a 100 yards and it sets me off like an asthmatic. Shame really enjoyed a doobie when I was younger.
It depends on whether that represents progress or decline. For Spurs, sitting comfortably in 3rd represents progress and they are justifiably happy about it - 5-2 butt-kickings aside. An FA Cup would be an extra bonus. For Utd that would represent a step back and we wouldn't like it. An FA Cup would be scant consolation.

That's alot to do with the fact that we have been spoilt for so long though. It would take some years without trophies ala Liverpool for us fans to remember the significance of these trophies. The PL title will always be the ulitimate aim but I certainly value the cup competitions aswell although saying that I would rather challenge for the league and end the season empty handed if need be than not challange at all and win a cup.
Well you can't win the FA Cup this season so that point is not worthy of any consideration. You aren't going to win the title so that point will not arise. So all in all - failure.

about 8 years ago I ran a pub frequented by heavy smokers, it had the worst extraction & air con I've ever worked with. Anway three times a year I'd get a really bad chest & throat infection and cough like a veteran 60 aday smoker with thick glow in the dark catarrh! My GP told me to quit smoking, and looked at me with disbelief when I said I wasn't smoker. So I quit my job instead, and haven't had a cough or cold in 8 years, but phlegm up whenever I passively(sp) inhale smoke and sneeze erractically.
