    Good morning.....

I would hope some semblance of normality has returned to at least some LFC fans this morning. Belated and climb down apologies issued. The indefensible looks jus tthat finally and now we await the next chapter in the sage, namely the refs report and fa action if any.

I would like to say one thing.

We are ALL indivdually responsible for our own actions... no body elses. I am quite irate for suarez damaging our club with his antics and especially as to be honest there were some nasty individuals doing something that would prove that its not only LFC fans who care stupid. I heard all about the fanzine, tee shirts and such and arrest made. This of course got no attention unlike our pair of total clowns to disgraced themselves when arrested simply becuae and ego had to be stroked within the ground.

In a way I think those who seek to do such things bring tings on themselves and are not a reflection on those who simply support thier club. For me those within the ground this staurday conducted themselves quite well. Suarez didn't exactly get a huge amount of booes did he? nor really. all in all a sorry state of affairs all round.

I was going to post this as an article but i feel the lfc mods are doing a bad job right now and allowing mutts run about the lfc board posting rubbish so i thought i'd state it here.

Be nice for it to end now, eh?

I mean, United accepted an apology that wasn't even really directed at them, I'm assuming in order to put the whole shebang to bed. Boring now and it completely detracted from the match.

Which we won nice and comfortably lest anyone forget!!!

I'll follow MITO's lead here - I'm not interested in feeding the Trolls...

Re the 'handshake' - WTF?? Why did the FA and the clubs insist on having the 'handshake' before the game, having previously let John Terry swerve the very same duty against QPR and Anton? Given the already inflammatory atmosphere surrounding the game, it would have been sensible to scrap it for this game and allow the situation to melt away.

If Suarez didn't want to shake Evra's hand, he should have told Kenny that was what was going to happen and everyone should have been aware before the line-ups. If, as suggested, Suarez lied to Kenny, this is a problem.

Re the actual missed handshake - Suarez was walking down the line shaking hands until he reached Evra. Now, its just my point of view, but Evra seemed to have his hand nailed onto his wasteband - he wasn't exactly 'extending the hand of friendship'. I read the following into the situation - Suarez sees the lack of extended hand and thinks "Well **** you then!" and walks on by. Evra gets his moment - he doesn't look at Suarez, he's too busy looking aggrieved to the cameras, while De Gea tries to force Suarez back before giving up. Rio gets in on the act by refusing to shake hands, but that's his choice too, and one he's entitled to.

Frankly, I don't see this as anything other than a media-contrived issue. The FA seem to have the idea that they have to be seen to be setting the moral agenda (to which they have no right and should drop this from their remit) and I'm sure they applied pressure to the clubs to have the handshake (some idea of 'closure' on the matter,'closure' being some kind of American ideal).

Overall, this seems to be an enormous storm in a teacup. As for SirExLax getting on his moral high horse over the handshake - I don't remember Alan Smith being invited to comment on Eric Cantona's kick on a Palace fan, having already been sent off for kicking a Palace player. It was a handshake for ****s sake.

I'd say comfortable wasn't quite right but i would say karma and professionalism played its part.

First half you were not great. i detected gerrard tiring on about 30mins and he got steadily worse.

second half lfc were unprofessional, firstly you kept your game going but lfc never came out, clealry they spent half time talking trash and on about a tunnel incident rather than getting tactics right.

Glen johnson failed to mark rooney for the frist gool, pretty poorly as per... whenever he gets into the box defending a cross he's bad. Spearing flogged no 2 and i honestly think lfc had no belief. Gerrard walked the second half until ferdinand dropped one right to suarez. amazing how he came alive after that.

You knwo what was hilarious, god i did laugh at the guy. ferguson wa son mtod saying you should have gone ofr 3 or 4 not sit back... <laugh> that was funny.

Once we scored then saurez (while offside and heading over) could have had a chance had he done better all round there and if jonhons had have hit that shot at a corner not right at de gea well... 2-2...

Overall utd were much the better footballing side cos we played a tatcial game of deep defense and individual errors cost us. It was karma of course IMO and well deserved.

King, i did notice rafael "bossing" carroll but poor andy never gets off the ground sometimes so even spearing could out jump him given some circumstances. I did also notice rafael, being young and impressionable, getting involved in evra's wild league winning celebrations. When is the trophy coming by the way? I mean i'm presuming you've won the title with those 3 points ;)

Yeah, I loved seeing that. The commentator sounded surprised the first time it happened, and from then on he just accepted it as being completely normal <laugh>

Can only assume it was cos Dalglish and SAF had both said their players would shake the other one's hand. The only reason the other one was cancelled was cos Hughes said he wasn't sure if Anton was going to shake Terry's hand. Given that both players had indicated they would shake, the FA and clubs may not have wanted to cancel the handshake cos they figured it would be a great symbolic way to bury the hatchet.

I think if he had said that beforehand then Dalglish would've passed it on to the FA and the handshake would have been cancelled. Personally I wouldn't have had a problem with that, it would've seemed a bit petty, but understandable.

That might make sense, but Suarez moved past Evra way too fast to have changed his mind imo. Evra did look like he was trying to force Suarez to be the one to extend his arm right out, possibly in some kind of macho thing, but if Suarez had intended to shake his hand I'd at least have expected him to hesitate before taking it as a snub. And then when Evra grabbed his arm, Suarez could've backed up, shaken his hand and then made Evra look like the cock and not him.

I don't think De Gea was trying to force Suarez back, I think he was just having his hand dragged up and back by the action of Evra pulling Suarez' arm. In fact, I doubt string bean De Gea could have forced Suarez' arm back if he'd used both hands and had a solid base to push off...

And MITO himself did argue that he thought it would be our biggest game of the season so far. Seems to deserve the biggest celebration... <ok>

too true, i'm gald your players saw it that way even if you didn't.... I'm glad they even spoke about how much said rivalry means to them <laugh>

now you're next biggest game of the season is next weekend so i'll be interested greatly to see how city and utd approvach the europa league games. Utd didn't great a fabulous draw with ajax but this round normally is easily won by a weakened side.

utd must win this weekend coming to keep on city cos the cracks are clearer than ever...

oh and i notice utd play at 13:30 v norwich which i can only conclude is doen for that being a local debry and a class one match for soem reason while city... who are falling apart play at 17:30 at home to blackburn.

will utd fall foul of hubris and let city off the hook or will city creack against one of the worst sides in the prem... should i put silva as my captain this weekend? Oh i think so.....

should i buy scholes and put him in... hmmm i think its a good shout at some point.

I didn't deny the rivalry, but to me the game itself wasn't any bigger than plenty of the games we played back in November / December when we were further behind and City were flying. For the players, of course the biggest game of the season is always the next one, and I'm also glad they saw it that way and went all out to win <ok>

Err, we don't have a game next weekend. Is that a sneaky double bluff dig at us not being in the FA Cup anymore? <grr>

Cracks for who? I admit City weren't 100% convincing in beating Villa - took a set piece to break them down, but with the Toures coming back they should be pretty strong for the run in.

He generally always emphasises the history aspect and the rivalry. But I don't remember any specific comments - it was Hernandez who said it had an extra edge regardless of the clubs' respective league positions.

I think city are tightening up, getting nervous. not playing well... silva looks beat, dzeko looks bad, and they are conceeding more... on the bright note for the hart seems to be stepping up big time.

no dig on the fa cup thing, i was talking acutally about fixtures on the 25th. you play norwich and they play b'burn then. I was looking at the Fantasy football sie ofr picking my team and alsothe fixtures and forgot what date it was... fair enough error there on my part... could happen to a saint.

and finally swarbs you were trying to wind lads up (banter) by saying we were mid table so it wasn't that important. thats fair enough and all that but i think we'll agree to say moe enjoyable for most to walk off with a win v us than a win v (insert whom you call ou mid table rivals here) <ok>

Agree about Silva - he doesn't look beat, but looks a bit weary that he has to carry so much of the attacking burden. From what I saw of the Villa game, they looked for him on the edge of the area in 80% of their attacks and everyone seemed to be expecting some magic from him to open the defence up. And Villa seemed very aware of that and countered him very effectively with numbers and a few sneaky fouls. If he gets a knock or starts getting really fatigued then City may find it very difficult to open their opponents up.

Fair enough - definitely a pretty big weekend for us on the 25th what with City having an easy home game on the Sat and us a tricky away one of the Sun. Gap could go back to five points for the first time in a while by the time we play.

Aye, a win against Liverpool is always preferable to a win against Newcastle or Norwich. Although tbh I'd put it alongside a win against Chelsea or Arsenal in recent seasons. But ultimately, I'd much rather lose to Liverpool and win the league than I would beat Liverpool and come second. It was a great feeling to beat you, but it'll provide precisely **** all consolation if we lose to Norwich in a fortnight.
