    If Rooney is now sulking that is now actually our problem, not his. I think the punishment in the instance did not fit the crime and it's backfired, I will 99% of the time back Fergie in everything he does but sometimes what he sees to be the right thing backfires. Dropping Rooney and playing the side he did against Blackburn was one of his mistakes.

    well you still equalised v blackbrun.

    i mean city dropped silva for a rest and lost to sunderland... was the rooney thing really that bad? what state was he really in? was he just not up to the trianing session due to eating a big steak or was it a bottle of wine that was the issue... i don't know anyway.

    you can never predict the future but i think putting rooney in his place has longer term benefits for the club ans others won't try it on and rooney is well warned... give it 3 months and it won't matter but I think on the opposite side give it 3 months and mancini will not have learned about taking sides lightly.

    i don't think the gerrard influence really would have done that.... we only conceeded a goal due to a deflection off of agger... we immediately equalised and kept the pressure on... fine gerrard was on the pitch but the fact is the goal was a free from bellamy that carroll unsighted your keeper who made a right hash of it with the defender!
