I wouldn't say it needs looking at urgently, but having another left back / full back option would be beneficial. Whilst we're unlikely to be in another situation where Vidic, Ferdinand, Rafael and Fabio are all injured at once, I'd prefer if we had an additional full back so we wouldn't have to rely on Smalling at RB with Evans at CB if we have another injury crisis. Sent you a PM - I lived in Croft till I was seven. First on Heath Lane and later on New Lane. Moved to Alty when I was seven, so don't really have any memories of Warrington barring Ikea and Birchwood Park...
No worries mate. Wish I could reminisce with you about life in Warrington, but I was far too busy at the time almost getting suspended from school for getting into fights and generally being a little dickhead. Not much has changed since
I think we need creative and DM as in my opinion Anderson will never make the grade and it will give Cleverly breathing space, although I think he will make the grade. Sweats and Tunns will testify I've been banging on for years that Schweinsteiger is the man we need but I agree, there's no sign of him ever leaving his home. He'd be better than Sneijder as he is way more versitile and, frankly a better player. De Rossi is an option but I wouldn't bother with Sissoko and I'm not entirely sure about De Jong either. He would be a good hardcase DM though, no doubt about that. Was actually just thinking exactly that about Evra on my way back in the car, he will soon enough need to be replaced as his standards have slipped over the last couple of seasons. I'd kill to have someone of the brilliance and consistency of Dennis Irwin there. One of the twins could step in but otherwise across the back we're in good shape with plenty centre halves and Smalling to cover the other twin at RB when he eventually moves to centre half. With Jones, Vidic and Smalling we're well set at CB and Evans and Ferdinand can still do a job when needed. Two signings, that's all that is needed for a very, very strong squad.
Not busy on here again today, although the Suarez threads seem busy. Personally Im' getting to the point where I don't care what he has or hasn't said - the FA have handled it poorly. What pisses me off is the **** that Evra is still getting. IF the FA didn't think there was a case to answer thery wouldn't have charged him yet some fans are still going on about Evra. One has even said Evra is the racist ? I personnally think it is a big misunderstanding between different cultures about what is acceptable in one and not in the other but I think it has been blown up now. Has Suarez said something which could be taken as racist in the letter of the law, possibly, was it ment to be a racist slur - I doubt it. However I rekon this one will rumble on for a while yet.
Not busy? Its deader than Lindsey Lohan's legitimate acting career. Her more specialist appearances might continue, but I doubt she'll make much from them. I don't think Evra is a racist, but I suspect he's very over sensitive, and if he was ridiculed with his own nickname, I don't think its racism, despite a racial term being part of the nickname. I agree that there may well also be a degree of cultural difference over acceptability of terminology. Its a hugely overblown event that shouldn't have been released to the press until the investigation was complete. So now its rolled on and on. Its a completely different set of circumstances to the Terry/Ferdinand incident, where SKY displayed the 'evidence' over and over, and as such was immediately in the public arena.
Is it true that 'black gazelle' is Evras nickname ? - I know Suarez or the press have said this but I have never heard of this before so that could be more bullshit for all I know.
Yeah me too, and it's killed this thread as everyone has talken sides and is arguing. That total ****wit who says 'everyone knows' that the one crying is racist is the racist is just beyond comment. Dickhead. My opinion is this; if anyone in the Liverpool team is capable of using racist abuse in order to get a rise from an opponent then that person is Suarez. Also, if there is one person capable of crying racist with a history of doing so then that person is Evra. The messy outcome is inevitable. I think Suarez is a slimy piece of **** as it goes so it's east to pre judge on this one, even though I'm trying not to. I believe the FA being the FA, i.e. ordinarily incapable of doing anything other than fence sit with their fingers in their ears, have decided that there is a charge to be made then they surely have some basis to do so. Otherwise they are opening an enormous can of worms.

I'm genuinely of the opinion that we have some real cultural differences here, well, the more I think about it I do anyway. I may be buying into preconceptions, but I get the distinct impression that Spain and the South Americas are about 20-30 years behind us in their sensitivity about race. We've had problems playing football matches in Spain where players have been verbally abused by fans; the Spanish National Coach Aragones famously directed insults at Thierry Henry. However, this is a good article to read... http://www.prostamerika.com/2011/11/11/kick-it-out-or-something-like-that-52305/
Why is it that the banter thread - where all the **** should take place is now the place to come if you want to discuss a topic without getting caught up in the wumming from both sides. I'd agree that it is probably cultural differences - however this isn't a defence in the EPL - if you play in this league then you play by the rules of the league. I doubt he was intentionally racist ( I don't know why ) but by the letter of the law the FA have to charge him when the complaint was made
Why does UIR think we dont know hes Suarez-the-racist? the newest wum on the LFC board. Come on UIR own up.
Are they really behind? The fact that they use a word similar to ours in a friendly context rather than racist doesn't make them behind us. Maybe race simply isn't an issue over there (south america) and in this sense they're miles ahead of us. It's only in European and North American culture that race is such a big issue, and the fact that anything and everything nowadays can be construed as racist only makes the problem worse.
Can't wait for the weekend football to get some relief from this **** Then we can go back to talking about Liverpool dropping points and hopefully another 'lucky' United win.
The FA is essentially a political organisation and are likely to use political standards to judge any evidence and arrive at a political conclusion. If the weight of the political opinion within the FA is to be seen to be hard on racism then there is no way that Suarez could recieve an equitable outcome as the politics will outweigh the facts. As for the evidence that they have used to bring the charge then that will have to be outlined in the papers that the FA will send to both Liverpool and Suarez. Unless or until those papers are put into the public domain we have no idea as to either their contents or value. It should however be noted that Liverpool have said that they will support Suarez in his claim for acquital and have therefore forgone any claim of mitigation.
We could also do you a favour in your battle for 8th by beating Swansea Or don't you see Swansea as a challenger for 8th ?
