Basically, as of 2009/10 City were making losses for FFP purposes of £110 million a year. Their new sponsorship deal should boost income by around £30 million (based on their old deal being £10 million a year) and the Champions League will bring in around another £30 million. So in order to break even under FFP, they will need to cut transfer amortisation and wages by around £50 million a year.

As andersred's estimate from April last year showed, if they don't buy any more players at all their transfer amortisation bill will have fallen by half by 2015. So they are going to need to cut wages or sell players regularly if they are to meet the regs imo.

Won't they start getting more from merchandise etc aswell? Because Chelsea are probably close to Liverpool and Man Utd in terms of shirt sales and they've only really been big globally since about 2005 when Mourinho won the league I would've thought.
