Is there a manager out there that you would put on the same page or in the same discussion as Fergie? Doesn't necessarily have to be at the same club for said years but a manager who constantly wins no matter what? I want to say a German coach but i can't remember if it is Hitzfield, maybe a Lippi?
I think we are close to kick off on the virtual game. I suggested there should be a forfeit for the losing team. It would have to be something that everyone agrees to do. My suggestion is that the losing team has to post a thread on their board with the title... Kenny Dalglish/Alex Ferguson is a God. All losing team members have to post a reply agreeing and venomously defend the statement against any unsuspecting person who comes on to argue against the point.
UIR, I meant current and it didn't ahve to be Liverpool. Is there anyone currently in the game, alive at least that you would consider on the same page as SAF. I know kenny did well but we need to see it again so let's not use Kenny ( I know you wouldn't anyway).
I haven't read the story but what is the basis? Probably has more to do with not just footballing ability but who he had to replace, keeping the fan faithful electric, etc.
Hmmm. Tough one, its hard to judge some because they were handed world class teams on a plate ( Pep ) and others have fallen from grace ( capello ). Very tough. Im gonna say no, at the minute no body compares to fergie. If you mean compared to fergie right now and not fergie on the whole then Pep certainly compares, mourinho too.
Gonzo made a thread on the Liverpool board. Didnt want to spoil it so asked in here. Its just his opinion but thought would make an interesting banter thread.
Fair points, but for me Mourinho can start to get there as it has been since around 03 that he was winning the lot. Pep, as you said is still in the now and his team are helping his case out ( Nothing against him but that team is superb). I would ahve to look it up but I am pretty sure Otmar Hitzfield ( hope I got that right) and Lippi win pretty much wherever they go and have done it at different levels ( not sure on Hitzfield with National team). Capello I would put there as he has done it with different teams and you can't take away the success he has had everywhere he has gone. Crazy to think that there really aren't that many top top class managers around. AVB, Klopp, Pep are the young ones who will be the next greats I think.
I fail to see how dalgleish can be favourably compared to ferguson. I'm not saying dalgleish is ****.. He's clearly not.. But is in no way anywhere near as good as fergie nor will he ever be.. An you lot are being completely blinkered to think that he is even close to being as good.. If he had stayed with you lot through your wilderness an built 5 different title winning teams maybe..
No Kenny never did something wonderful like take a team from 2nd to 13th in the space of a year. Nor has he had 18 failed attempts in Europe.
