No. Benitez did in ten months what it took SAF seven years to do. You are ignoring that fact that the Champions League didn't come into existence until 1992 and was only for the league champions back then. You are also ignoring the fact that English clubs were banned from Europe for the first three years of SAF's Utd reign. Now answer the question: how many times was Ferguson fired before becoming Aberdeen manager? And how many of those were due to him already having agreed to join a different club?
