Really struggling to see how Kuyt's goalscoring record is comparable to Rooney's, either in all games played or league only, as Rooney's record is clearly superior.

 

It all is comparable in KPR's head.

 

Kuyt and Rooney both average 12 goals a season.The only difference is Rooney is English and plays for the media darlings.

 

Kuyt - 0.28 goals per game.
Rooney - 0.47 goals per game.

This is since joining Liverpool and United respectively.

 

well rooney has scored more league goals overall mainly due to his one great season and playing in the league longer plus kuyt having a mare in 07/08.

However, if talking league goals kuyt did outscore him last season and in 08/09 they were level but kuyt got more assists. Plus in 06/07 rooney only got two more than kuyt so you can see its not that far apart season by season.

No that's total bullshit. Kuyt averages just under 10 league goals a season at Liverpool (49 in 5 seasons) and averages just over 13 goals in all competitions (66 in 5 seasons).

In all competitions, Rooney's worst goalscoring season for United (last season) saw him accumulate 16 goals. Kuyt's best season for Liverpool saw him score 15. Yes, Kuyt's best goalscoring season for Liverpool is worse than Rooney's worst goalscoring season for United.

So, you were talking **** KPR. Rooney is seen as better than Kuyt because he IS better. Nationality doesn't come into it.
