Got to admit I haven't seen it, but I've heard pundits and ex refs arguing that the replay didn't show conclusive contact (much like the one with Evans at the weekend). But either way, after Halsey gave that marginal penalty and Suarez was then booked for dives against Villa and Sunderland, it was always going to need to be stonewall for Suarez to get one off the same ref.

I can see your argument, but I think that would just encourage dirty play by the defenders - little shirt tugs and nudges all designed to knock the attacker off balance whilst not being enough to actually knock them over. Players like Terry are very good at that - they run along behind the attacker tugging their shirt so it's not obvious but is still stopping the attacker running.

Personally my view is that if you are going to make a tackle in the box you need to win the ball. Anything other than that and you are asking for trouble - attackers are always likely to go down in the box when they have the chance. There's no real deterrent - Suarez has had a couple of bookings for it over the past few months and still tries it on and I think 90% of other players would do the same.

Completely agree with all that. In fact, I think it's even more extreme. I remember Gary Neville's analysis on Sky where he showed Suarez (the Cattermole one IIRC) and Tevez getting booked for diving despite there being quite a bit of contact. But the players just fell down normally rather than making the most of it. Compare that to Dzeko and Young's huge dives last season and it seems like a massive reaction is needed to get anything. So players are currently being taught:

    1. Dive if you feel any contact
    2. Make a massive meal out of it to avoid getting booked

Not the best message - no wonder Welbeck, Hazard and other young players have started throwing themselves around so much.

    They are annoying Irish ****s?

UIR has just revealed himself. Should he be banned again over personal vendettas? Well this is his third account, the first being UIR the quest for 20.

Anyone who believes in a conspiracy in football or refs being biased to one team or another should be treated like the bellends that they are from now on.

****ing tedious excuses for their teams being a bag of **** at the end of the day.

Whatever happend to that kagawa powa chap? <whistle>

What are you on about UIR? You lurking on the threads? You have to see that the ref consistency is shoddy, not consipracy, but it does get a tad annoying.

    Thats different.

You surely must notice some genuinely think their is a conspiracy in football and that refs are biased to certain teams.

Those people would be bellends and should be treated as such <ok>

Haven't been put forward haha. ****ing mong.

I suspect you are unable to read then as if you were you would see many have been put forward <ok>

Perhaps its a case of you being one of those who believes theres a conspiracy. Yes that would be it. Explains why you cant see them being put forward. Nutters usually cant see reality <ok>
