How wonderfully stereotypical. Anyway, as everyone knows, I'm a scientist, so it would have to be a scalpel <ok>

It was actually the opposite. They thought, with it being Suarez, it was a dive, but the replay showed contact between their shins.

Although, that depends on your definition of a dive. While going down under no contact is a definite dive, is going down under minimal contact also a dive? What about when you look for the contact?

Personally, I'd say all of them are dives, as all require a conscious effort to hit the deck. If it were a real foul, you'd fall over whether you wanted to or not.

One of my pet hates is that refs don't punish a foul when the recipient stays on their feet. It's still a foul. All they do is encourage you to take a dive so that the correct punishment is given.

A good example is the Perch/Reina and Dempsey/Bellamy incidents last year. Perch went down, knowing Reina would get a red for a 'headbutt', whereas Bellamy, presumably too riled up to be sly, just stood his ground when Dempsey put his face to his. In actuality, Dempsey was more aggressive than Reina, but got nothing. Likewise, Joey Barton got sent off for 'headbutting' Bradley Johnson.

The irony of it all is, Martin Olsson admitted taking a dive for a penalty because he said he'd seen the same ref give a soft one a couple of weeks before. He was punished for his admittance. The moral being take a dive and don't admit to it. In other words, cheat and lie and you'll be ok.

You forgot to mention that it also helps to play for Manchester United if you want to get away with it.

It also helps to have your Chief Executive on the FA Commitee too. Some would call that a conflict of interest and against EU competition laws.

Ah, the ex-banee. I know you're probably sick and tired of hearing the Gill thing, but it does have something of an odour about it, you have to admit. Go on.........................<laugh>

To be honest, I don't think any senior member of any league team, not just the PL, should have anything to do with the FA at a senior level.

Dont think its an issue. Football at board room level is a lot friendlier than at pitch level. United and Liverpool are best mates at board room level <ok>
