What we actually should have done is sold all our back up strikers and just had a poor first choice strike force. Once we had sold them we should have not purchased any new strikers before the close of the window.

Surely that's what all the big clubs are doing ?

 

I reckon he also thought he was signing a decent player. PFA footballer of the year, top goalscorer in the PL from last season etc. You know, a goalscorer. Someone who scores goals. Like Borini.

Don't get too excited. Vidic has been out for a year so will gradually get back up to speed. Both Jones and Smalling are out injured, as was Evans until yesterday when he made the bench. Our problem position is left back as Evra is spent. Other than that we'll be fine. Central midfield is more of a concern.

As it goes, we've conceded one more goal than Newcastle have. As you've had your first choice back 4 playing you must be extremely concerned.

We dont have a first choice back 4 actually, Only Santon and Colo are mainstays.
