Lets imagine we sign him for 20million and hes on £150k a week at least. 4 year contract. £51million.

Lets say he scores 100 goals in that time, which is very likely if he remains fit for the most part.

We win 2 league titles, a champions league and 3 or 4 domestic cups in that time. We also have one of the best strikers in the world helping to teach our young strikers.

Good or bad? Its a perfectly possible scenario aswell.

I agree, they will be stronger short term, not sure if I would want to spend £40M. If he was coming to us, we would all be buzzing, it is a strong statement of intent, and a little desperate at the same time.

Pretty sure fergie will stay with 442 even if RVP joins,, you could maybe see one of the youngsters leaving in that scenario.

  6. Obviously, that would make it a good signing but that is one of the largest 'ifs' I think I have ever seen pal <ok>

I would also expect his wages to be closer to £200k <ok>

Nani loves 433 as does Young.

Welbeck will benefit massively from RVP, who wouldnt from playing and learning alongside RVP and Rooney? Hernandez will continue to develop.

We would have 4 strikers, thats easy to manage. Assuming Berbatov goes we have RVP, Rooney, Welbeck and Hernandez. Wow...... if I wasnt a United fan I would be scared.

Tbh proven players like RVP dont come around so often. Hardly desperate.

    it could be 4-4-1-1

Rooney tucked in behind RVP, IMO it will be deadly. Will be happy if it falls through.

  10. Maybe on loan...? Can't see Fergie selling Welbeck or Hernandez because he likes to have four strikers, plus RVP's injury record suggests he will need back up too.

The one thing I will say is that Man Utd will be better than Arsenal for RVP when it comes to fitness. At Arsenal, he is the main man and when available he plays. At Man Utd, Fergie has the options to be able to rest him which should help to prevent injuries occurring <ok>

Man Utd winning 2 titles and a CL plus a few cups in 4 years isnt too unrealistic.

    Infact....

    we just did it...

OK short sighted then. Short term fix. Like I say, I am mixed, accept he is a very good player, but it is hell of a lot of cash to throw at a 29 yr old with no resale value.

  13. I don't disagree with any of that pal, I have said he would improve the squad and team. My only issue is the cost in line with age, injuries, fee and wages <ok>

Hmmm...let's see...finishing ten points behind the leaders, or finishing behind the leaders on goal difference....which do we think would give us more cause to be optimistic for the following season.

You're a clever lad, I'll let you figure it out <ok>

Lol, you know him too well ;)

It's a bad move financially for whichever club signs him. But then football isn't played financially. Like with Berbatov, it may not make much sense, but if RVP contributes to us winning two league titles rather than City, then I doubt many people at Utd will be counting the pennies.

He gets the picnic blanket <ok>

Definitely - the others all score goals and win games.

    Aguero > RVP >>>>>>>> Suarez

  16. It isn't unrealistic and you have just done it, but it is still a massive expectation / if <ok>

    No resale value eh?

Ever heard of the middle east, we will get 40million in 3 years for him dont you worry.

Also I have been saying all along its a short term solution to a problem we dont really have.

Lets be honest here, this would be a statement of intent, a **** you money clubs stance if we sign him...

Oh and Juventus owner says hes signed for united or about too...

    Italians, trustworthy chaps!

^^I do actually agree with that, and TBH would be extremely excited if he was coming to us.

  20. They are different types of players so they can't be compared <doh>

Personally, if I was managing those three, it would be Suarez plus one. I'm not saying Suarez is better (see above comment), I am saying he is a different player to the other two that are both strikers/goalscorers, Suarez is a forward <ok>
