Aye, but if I followed that logic then I'd never say anything to you bunch of old ****s! <laugh>

I think the next few seasons will be a big test for them. Their track record with the Red Sox and Liverpool to date has shown they don't give managers much time. Pretty much the first thing they did when taking over the Red Sox was sack the manager who'd only been there six months. The next manager lasted two years. Much like happened at Liverpool in fact. Francona got some time, but only as long as he was winning the big trophies. As soon as he failed to qualify for the World Series for a single season (which is effectively missing out on the CL in football teams) he was out the door, and citing a lack of support from the owners as part of the team's poor performance.

Do FSG have the stomach and the money to make the investment needed to get Liverpool back into the top four, or are they hoping to find the football equivalent of Francona? Gonna be an interesting summer for your lot <ok>

Their first moves have been positive. Personally I would have preferred Kenny to have been given a second season but if you are going to make a change then make it clean and quick - which they did. Then they moved in a new Commercial Director and Communications Director who are FSG appointees. The Commercial Director in particular is interesting as it appears to leave Ian Ayre with the prime responsibility of progressing the stadium issue (we already know that the naming rights issue is being handled by FSG). That appears to indicate that FSG are digging-in for the longer term.

Do FSG have the money? Simple answer is who knows. All corporates of that type are stronger than their own financial statements appear to show provided that their investor base is good and committed to them. Potentially, it would appear that they do. However, given the present economic state of the Southern European countries (and potentially across the Eurozone), I would not be surprised to find that, with a few big exceptions, the majority of transfers this Summer will appear to be at lower than expected 'market value'. LFC did the majority of their housekeeping last season and therefore may be in a better strategic position - at least enough to off-set the no CL football.

From what has transpired so far it appears that FSG are committed to appointing a 'younger' manager. Even if he has no European experience that may not be too much of a disadvantage as he will have a Europa campaign with which to gain some experience. I've nothing to base this on but I wouoldn't be surprised to see FSG talk to Rafa about a DoF position.

As you say, it's going to be an interesting Summer.

How ****ing embarrassing is this Eden Hazard transfer saga?

He's not ****ing Lionel Messi so I really don't see why he is trying to squeeze every last ounce of publicity out of this. Would be ****ing hilarious if he turns out to be ****e after all this rubbish.

I love all this "I want to play football, I don't want to be on the bench" stuff aswell as a justification to not go to Real Madrid or Barca. The only reason he's not going there is because he wouldn't be the main man who's on the adverts etc like he would be in any premier league side.

If he goes to Chelsea it will prove he's only moving for the money too, because what attacking player would be really excited in joining Chelsea who have barely managed over 40% possession in each their last 3 big games? On top of that they've not even got a manager in place.
