Good to see you around. Hope the job hunt is going well.

The banter thread has been very dull without you.

Ironic that, UIR. I don't think I've EVER seen you admit you were wrong.

To prove me wrong, go over to that Cisse goal thread and admit that he didn't '100% mean it' as you claimed.

Papiss Demba Cisse, describing his wonder strike that helped Newcastle beat Chelsea:
"With the second goal, when I saw it coming back from Shola Ameobi I just wanted to kick it. I had no energy so I just wanted to hit it and it ended up going in. The goal came at the right moment, they were putting pressure on us so it helped release the tension. I am very happy to score 13 goals so far, as a striker I just want to feel good and score goals."

Why would I claim to be wrong when I am right?

Plus, considering you blocked me we seem to be chatting quite alot? Why is that?

Plus ya will find the odd admission of any mistakes I make, takes nothing to admit a mistake tbh. Try it, tell 4deck aswell, his age may hamper his ability to learn though.

Haha, I've already told you I didn't actually block you. I said I did to annoy you (and the fact you keep bringing it up suggests it worked.)
I'd like to know how you're 'clearly' right? Cisse himself says he just hit it. You say he meant it 100% - the swerve and the placement and everything. Is he - the man who actually took the shot - wrong too then?

It doesnt bother me, I thought it was weird though. Thought you were unblocking individual posts or something.

Anyway, he meant to shoot yes? So his intention was to strike the ball towards goal, he intended to score.

Lets say he 100% meant to shoot, he couldnt of known it was going to be that good though.

Now you're changing the criteria to fit your argument. I've explicitly said he didn't intend the swerve or the placement. Of course he 100% meant to shoot!
Clearly he intended some swerve, hence hitting it with the outside of his foot. But to say he intended that degree of curl and for it to loop over Cech is a stretch.

This is a nothing debate now, but you still won't give an inch.

Kagawa set to be a United player. Nothing concrete except this....

Shinji Kagawa: "It would be a dream to play for Manchester United." #MUFC

    and

Dortmunds director - He is going to play in England, he rejected our contract.

If all is confirmed we have a very good player on our hand, a very important part of the Dortmund team.

£7million is the fee being mentioned but if so thats an amazing bargain considering the potential for exploiting his marketability in Japan/asia.

What do you think he intended then? Reckon he thought "I know what would be best to do with this ball. See if I can hit that bloke in Row Z"? He may just have hit it, but it's a big stretch to claim he had no intention of getting it anywhere near the goal. He may not have expected it to go anywhere near, but I doubt he took a swing at the ball without even trying to swerve it towards the goal.

Sorry but why would Chinese or Indian people be buying shirts with Kagawa on? Its a bit like saying "Oh, we've signed Luis Suarez, this will really help our popularity in Argentina"

Not saying they would be buying shirts but it allows us to exploit a new market. Japan is quite important to asia and I would think there are a number of avenues for the club to pursue using Japan as the starting point in order to further our global reach.

You also have to consider how we over in europe will time to time wear the shirt of a great player from another club, loads of people have Barceona/messi shirts for example. If he was to do really well at United surely he would be recognised all over asia? People support United from all over, can you really say you dont think theres a market outside japan for United shirts with his name on?

You've already got a foothold in Asia due to the volume of things you win, I don't think Kagawa is going to change anything much. The team that cracks Asia will be the first team that produces an Indian or Chinese player that plays for them week in week out in a top league. Japan is a very small market in comparison to those two and I don't think Kagawa will really effect it any more than Park Ji-Sung has.

And the Messi thing is only because he is a superstar, I have my doubts that Kagawa is going to be a superstar, but even if he was the buying of shirts with his name on would really not be linked to his ethnicity and more to do with his ability.

And the award for the biggest misinterpretation of my post goes to...
**** me, Swarbs, point to where I said he had 'no intention of getting it anywhere near goal' please. In fact, in the post that you've quoted, I distinctly say 'he 100% meant to shoot.' Which means, in case you haven't worked it out, that I think he 'intended' to score. So you're talking rubbish. My only claim was that he didn't intend to do it in such a spectacular fashion as it turned out.

Unlucky UIR, Swarbs has beaten you hands down.

It really depends upon what you actually mean by "cracking Asia". Asia is not a unified whole, it is and will remain very disparate. Therefore even if you develop a superstar from say South Korea or Japan, the heightened interest in your club will be limited to that particular country. It may have some effect upon shirt sales across the region. Therefore the biggest prize will go to the club who finds the first Chinese superstar.

However, if you mean long term advantage then that will go to the club who establish the strongest links with either clubs or football/political authorities.
