One valid reason why he might be off form is that he's been playing with Uruguay and the journey back through time zones, whilst now more comfortable, is still tiring. You never know, could have an effect.
Now then Rufflad. A nice reasoned response. You do yourself great credit There is a possibility of this, but I'd like to think this won't be the case.
I'm perfectly reasoned when not patronised. I think you'll find I'm willing to actually talk football more than most. Course you'd like to think that but it is an underlying factor. One that makes me think that he might not have the same impact as last year, that and the fact that we now know far more about him and have an entirely different defence.
Don't think I've ever patronised you mate. Jet lag may have an effect. You do have a different defence, but it's still not that strong (like ours). It is my fundamental that Suarez is just one of those totally unpredictable players, an dot just because he plays for us. It doesn't really matter how much you think you know about him, you still don't know what he's going to do. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough.
And I didn't say YOU did. Check your PM. What is overlooked about last season is that at CD it was Wes Brown, who'd hardly had a game, and Smalling who was inexperienced of this type of intensity and had never played alongside Brown. Carrick was also one the players Suarez skinned, not one of our best at the art of tackling. I think if Vidic and Jones play, that is a strong defence. Ditto if it's Vidic and Ferdinand. We'll also have a better right back than the impulsive Rafael playing, be it Smalling or Jones. It's all very well suggesting we should be worried by Suarez but it is also a very different team that you'll be playing against and we've one or two that you lot should be 'worrying' about.
I know you have, which is why it will be very close in my opinion. Regarding Vidic and Ferdinand, they're both coming back from fairly lengthy lay-offs, which usually has a negative effect. Playing Jones at RB is not a good idea in my humble opinion. Got your PM. He seems to have become quite EMFesque recently, much as UIR has. Talking of EMF, there was also a PM from himm asking me not to tell everyone he was KPR. I don't know what he's on, but I'll give a try any day of the week
Ha, yeah as if we wouldn't work it out eh? It's like I said further back, if Vidic does return I'd like Jones alongside him and not Rio. I think that would be asking for trouble. Smalling would be preferance at right back. Depend who is fit really but Jones and Ferdinand didn't look great together against Basel, although in Rio's defence he does tend to chuck in the odd match where his mind is elsewhere and it serves as a wake up and he'll be on the money after so it might prove a useful kick up the arse.
All will be revealed come Saturday. I thought I had a ticket, but it fell through last night. It's 12 years since I witnessed this fixture live. What a pisser! At least my least hostile alehouse now has sky (TV, not larker), so I might avoid a good kicking. It's rough where I live post-divorce (cost of housing) and it's probably 70:30 in favour of your lot. Me, I've never been able to keep my mouth shut when it comes to this match.
Well I live in completely neutral territory now so it makes no odds. Plus, they'll all be pissed having just wathced the world cup semi. I'm staying in anyway, she's off for a hair do so I've got my hands full with the kids. Might not be too bad a thing as I'll be distracted rather than chewing my bleeding nails off.
I read back, but Rus - Suarez skins pretty much whatever's put in front of him. He's played against better CB's than your third choicers last season (if that's the excuse you're offering up) and duly, taken the pee. Also, the jetlag thing...he came back from the Copa America fresh as a daisy. Not sure how long he can keep it for like...but the boy's in incredible form. The reasoning I couldn't get is, why now? Why should he suddenly not "turn up"? If he's marked out the game by quality defending, that's different. Believe...he'll turn up. He'll do anything to win a game!
P.S The manky circle-slander. Funny. And more than a bit gay! heh. Thought we came for the banter. Give as good as you get...no? Or we only as good as "so-n-so's a f***** *****-****". Don't see the point. Closed to new faces this ere forum? No skin off mine. Haven't been here for ages. Can live without. Thought it'd be a laugh.
You asked that did I not see him, just a teeny bit, running rings round us again. I said no. Now you have changed that and are pounding away at me for allegedly suggesting he won't turn up. If you want to have a debate then get your argument/people involved all straightened out first. It was not me who said he wouldn't turn up, I said I don't see him running rings round us again. And I don't. I offered a perfectly valid reason (or two) for this to Red, which you have clearly picked up on. It's called debate, I've given my opinion backed up by my reasoning. You should try to do the same. Oh and I know he'll do anything to win a game, including handling on the goal line and diving like a good 'un. Cheat in other words.
I dunno RHC...I come here and all I see are the same five or six posters. Same five or six names. Over and over. No wonder really. Still, I'll hold tight, see what comes of one side screaming "******* ******-******!"...see if it's heads anywhere less dull.
Rus - wrong footing. He'll turn up. He may run rings. He may not. We happy now? Or you wanna call me rude naughty orrible names?
Dodgy ground there Rufflad. I don't think I need to provide proof sources. You know the perpetrators, past and present.
There are other threads on here mate. Try the official banter thread - there's a food/spud debate going on at the moment.
