Don't know about the Sakho thing but Sterling was running onto a pass by Suarez when he was pulled back by Moxey (?) and it carried on when Sterling got into the box, according to the rule book it says that if the pulling carries on into the box then its a penalty kick. Definitely a foul and definitely a penalty for me.
Think it was a pretty harsh according to 5 live and what ppl have said on here and various forums I like Holloway, was waxing lyrical about YNWA song
Really hope Gerrard regains his form sooner rather than later.. What we really need in CM right now is an inform Gerrard, but currently he just seems to want to much time on the ball and doesn't seem to offer himself as an out ball from defence. With that said, we did see him get in some good areas today which is an improvement at least.. Our midfield is the weakest it's been in a long time, maybe even in my life time. #Notsayingmuch
This seems to be an ongoing difference of opinion between Liverpool fans, the combination of Lucas and Gerrard is very strong imo and Hendo seemed to do a good job today but I would agree that Gerrard, Hendo away from home against a good team would be a worry.
In some ways it's good. But it's so easily bypassed and there's no support for the front line from either of them because they're either too slow or too defensive. They're also not physically strong compared to other PL midfielders Quite big weaknesses
I think the fact this is a debated topic is a good thing, it hows we are starting to get competition between those three for the middle spots. Competition for places is only ever a good thing!
Penalty... no it wasn't. 2nd half... yeah we were crap but less crap than most of our 2nd halves... like semi-skim crap. Difference is we could afford to be crap at 3-0 up. We're not AC Milan and they're not Liverpool. I have no doubt we could have played better if needed in that 2nd half... we did wake a little after their goal. Good performance from everyone minus Raheem and Moses... but, no disrespect to Palace, that's not the toughest cheese Suarez will bite this year... We weren't playing the big cheese... we should be dominating that at home... even if we are top 8 not top 4.
I'm glad there is finally a debate on this because it's been poor ever since Alonso left, and non existent when Mascherano left. It's probably the worst LFC central midfield I've seen in recent times - lack of energy, lack of patience and discipline, no movement, no power, inability to retain possession and dominate games. I may be harsh but we've conceded the most shots on goal this season - that is simply unacceptable for a top team. This may be down to the tactics as Gerrard and Lucas are obviously not poor players but simply aren't suited to this system.
I think the combination of Gerrard, Lucas and Hendo is very strong. But we shouldn't be needing a third midfielder to cover the obvious weaknesses
I'm sick and tired of these continuous moan sessions. "It's weak" or "he's lazy" and on and on on. Yet none of the moaners ever come out and say either how they would set up our midfield or what players they would replace our 'failing' midfield with. Until such times as they can come out with practical chapter and verse then I'm going to reserve the right to denounce their arguments as rubbish!
Dave if someone thinks someones been lazy or not played well you have to call it Not one player is immune from criticism You cant just say someones opinion is crap or rubbish
