England scored and looked like they were giving up.

Not a good enough defence to sit back at 1-0 with 60mins to go against players like France have.

    More positives than negatives eh?

Well at the end England decided to be terrified of the ball. Also went ultra defensive.

Started meh, had a 5-10minute spell where we were ok, scored first, gave up.

What the hell do you expect? Man for man, we aren't as good as France. We quite simply can't go out all-attack and expect to win. Even Holland played defensively and look at their team!

Hodgson has gone about this the right way. We don't need to win this match.

Maybe england should stop expecting free kicks and just get on with the game.

We are not talking bone crunching tackles here are we after all.

Hart should have done better for the Nasri goal but at least we got a point as most were expecting England to lose.

England started well and faded quickly as usual, but France didn't do enough with the ball to earn the win. Welbeck played very well up front but was often lacking support with 2 or 3 defenders around him, Oxlade Chamberlain had some good and some bad moments, Parker and Gerrard were pretty solid overall without ever being spectacular but Gerrard was caught far too deep for the goal.

The ref had a shocker though, France got a large majority of the calls and the ref seemed like he was scared to book them, Cabaye alone commited two cynical fouls to break up attacks in the first half and only got a talking to, where as Young and Oxlade Chamberlain both got booked for pretty soft fouls, none of which were worthy of a yellow in my opinion.

Why cant england be exciting like in 96?

Wouldnt be arsed if we lost games if we looked like we wanted to win. No idea how the commentators can say England did well as if playing for a draw constitutes playing well then fair enough.

They were desperately trying to make out anything remotely positive for England was a massive thing. It wasnt.

Bar Milners one off chance we created **** all, our goal came from a re taken free kick.

Even a poor france performance will still leave them disappointed they didnt win as a poor france is better than a good england ( good according to ITV ).

It's because we had the likes of Alan Shearer and Paul Gascoigne in the team.
