Not being critical, just shocked some of your fans seem to be questioning Sanchez as a signing. If he played for anyone else (baring maybe Madrid) there's no way he'd be being sold. He looked great in the world cup as well.
Well Barca are prepared to shell out 50 million along with Sanchez to get Suarez, shows the value of the 2 players.
Rumors around that Sanchez is infact not interested in joining LFC, because it apparently hurts his pride that he's been makeweight in the deal, along with another 50mil to get Suarez. For a player who's constantly talked about wanting to become the best in the world, that surely should make him feel like ****.
Sanchez is a good player, but he's not good enough to replace a Suarez - who's easily one of the top 3 in the world. I'd have him in a heartbeat if Suarez was staying, but he's certainly not good enough to be a direct replacement.
At least Aspas will not be Suarez' replacement, as was mooted last summer![]()

Why so surprised? Perhaps some people here take a more informed view of both Sanchez's level of talent and his ability to truly add value to the squad.
His World Cup was reasonable without being outstanding. I truly don't remember an occasion when I got a 'buzz' because he was on the ball. His club performances last season leave some room for doubt. Then you ask yourself what, apart from reputation, he truly brings to the party that we actually need at the present time considering the players and options that we have . For more than a few of us the answer is a big fat ? when it comes to Sanchez. Add to that the players own comments that he has no desire to join us and I begin to think its a non-starter for both parties.
But I don't see any problem with Chelsea making an offer. He apparently likes London, he'd be joining a side that is made up of names rather than skill sets. So when's Maureen going to table a bid?

Lets face it, in pure skill terms, you arent going to get anyone as good as Suarez as a replacement, especially one WHO isnt bat **** crazy and costs less money.
If such a person existed, Barca would be going for him and NOT Suarez.
So you are going to get a replacement that isnt as good, that much is agiven.
Question is, how far behind Suarez in talent terms are you willing to look, and which of those players will be available and willing to join LFC?
Thats the question.
Behave, Suarez isn't 'easily' top 3 in the world. There's a top 2 and a load of other players who come in and out of fashion. Iniesta and Ibra have achieved far more in the game then Suarez and are still performing at a top standard. Bale, Robben and others at Bayern are also performing brilliantly and consistently and against better teams than Norwich!!
But even if Suarez is top 3, then clearly you wont get a direct replacement as you'll never get the 2 above him. So you have to accept that you probably will end up with a so called lesser player but hope the money generated improves the squad as a whole.
Exactly why im not happy with Sanchez. Only 2 players we could consider if we are looking for a direct replacement, and we don't a ****ing chance with either of them.
But i'd like us to go for someone close enough. And as you said, how far behind are we looking at in terms of talent?
Sanchez is certainly nowhere in the same league imho.
As i mentioned previously, i'd have Reus or Dimaria over him any day.
Though the latter maybe be a tad harder to persuade, rumors are that he wants out, with a shed load of cash and 200k off the wage bill we certainly should be going for the creme.

You must have been watching a different player to me as I thought he looked very good in the games I saw. Absolutely ran rings around Spain for instance and has a great work rate i.e an ideal Brendan player. Not sure what makes your opinion any more 'informed' than anyone else's to be frank.
Assuming Suarez leaves, you could field a forward 4 of Sturridge, Sanchez and 2 from Courtinho, Sterling and Lallana. That looks pretty decent to me. Plus it is a squad game so the more good players the better surely? Plus he has C.L experience which most of your team don't have.
Bearing in mind you almost bought Salah in the jan window and some Russian guy no one had heard of, this has got to be a step up surely?
Why does the Norwich thing keep coming up? You'd think it was the only team he scored against...

Its worthwhile pointing out though, that when we bought Suarez he wasn't the player he has now become.
He was one of many players out there with potential to become top draw, and we got him and developed that
potential.Same with Torres, there wasn't a line of major clubs waiting for his signature but one or two interested.
There will be others out there that will already have been targeted by LFC as Suarez's replacement, probably
around the £20m mark.
We can use this Suarez cash to really strengthen our overall squad, exactly what we need right now to push on.
