Awesome lap by Lewis and pretty handy by Seb, the drivers making the difference. I don't care what anybody says, there's nothing between these cars - it just comes down to driver and circumstance on the day.
Being widely reported to be a replica, apparently the helmet model is from the 90's and not 87 as claimed. Disappointing that they called it "race worn" if that's the case.
Fantastic lap by Lewis and fitting that it was that kind of lap that matches the late great Ayrton Senna. Full respect, great achievement. I think the race will be a damn sight closer though.
It's official, the McLaren chassis is a winner and Alonso will re sign - they have won a race before September.
Hard to call, in the end I went Vettel as the Ferrari looked fast on both compounds, but I could regret it, Hamilton looked quick.
Right . I am off to use my birthday pressie with Mrs Jasper http://www.williamsf1.com/conference-centre/race-day-hospitality Think of me when they both go out on the first lap
Lewis and Vettel were in a different league, and that's what we want - the pair going head to head. I think this will be a strategy win, Ferrari should have won last year - should be good.
I'm looking forward to this it has to be said. My thinking is that this could go to Bottas or Kimi as Lewis and Seb could be having it large up front and potentially use up their tyres and force themselves into 2 stopping. This might be a race for 3rd and 4th place runners to sit in a pocket, mind your tyres and go long on first stint. If Lewis and Seb race one another up front, you can probably sit in the pocket within 5-7 secs and then run til the end on Supersofts and the two stoppers will then have to catch and pass you. Let's hope it's a ding dong
