It now puts me in the position of either watching live with the mute button on, or risk waiting for the highlights and hoping I don't accidentally see the result.
The further we get into the season the more the drivers are complaining of getting the tyres into their operating windows. Is this the drivers latching onto this default excuse or is something happening as the season progresses that is causing ever more tyre issues?
They gotta have something to blame that isn't them. In saying that, I did see Kimi spin, and it did look like a lack of rear grip more than anything else, I thought maybe they had gone a bit too aggressive on the rear wing, but tyres makes sense. I doubt it'll stay like that though, it's only used 1 weekend a year, so it's probably the greenest of the tracks they visit, the more the weekend goes on the more the track will rubber in.
Couple of big differences on teammates, Alonso/Stoff, only 3/10ths but Alonso set his time much earlier. Then it's the usual, Hulk/Palmer and Massa/Stroll with big deltas.
Really hope Mercedes pull it out of the bag this weekend. Dont really want more than 25 points between drivers
For the sake of the championship I agree, but I can't help thinking this is all of Mercs own making. I also think Merc will out develop and be more reliable than Ferrari, so it could be a season of two halves.
Bottas has had an engine failure because they didn't change the engine, spun under the SC and had his tyres over inflated, and Hamilton has had a couple of shockers, Mercedes are only just 2nd after all those human errors. Once you see the context of the results you realise the only reason the Ferrari seems better is because the personnel aren't ****ing up as much.
I'd say they already know he isn't, but then they look at their bank balance. Nice to see Palmer has taken my advice and saved his fast lap for Q
I wonder where Alonso would have qualified in Monaco. Button, by his own admission, had to be cautious and Fernando has about 4 tenths on Vandoorne consistently.
I think he will be gone . I honestly hoped he would be good , and it's not over yet , but Williams surely must consider the money his father brings to the team , and balance that with the loss of constructors championship revenue .
2 great laps from 2 great champions, I thought Hamilton was going in the wall from the onboard through the final chicane.
