Come on silver, just stay awake for a bit longer and you can sleep well before race day and not feel like ****.
I can't do it... It's like Watching England v West Germany in Italia '90.... Just pure agony. A hate it when Hill's in the pits and Patrick Head is looking at the wishbone... brings back too much pain.
The bit that gets me is when Hill's visor is open, and you can just tell he knows it's over.... Urgh....
I was thinking when he leans back on the tool chest at the back of the garage and thinks about slamming his fist down, then remembers he's British, and that's just not done.
I know most people don't rate Hill, and will only say he was in the hunt because of Schumacher's race bans... But Hill really had to step up to the plate that season. He was racing a car that his team-mate died driving, he was thrust in to a team leadership role and he didn't crumble under the pressure. And a true gent to boot!
He's the true gent of motorsport. Even in his book of that season, he doesn't mention the incident at all or attack Schumacher in any way.
he wasn't a million miles off Prost in '93 in many races. It still irks me that Prost was in that car anyway... But Renault wanted it, and they go it. It should have been another title for Mansell and bring Hill in as his successor. Still... At least we got to see Mansell tearing it up in CART.
I am such a Mansell Fanboy.... But by god I miss having him around. Yeah he moaned, yeah he wasn't the biggest personality out there... But he was a normal family man that I could relate to... And he could drive the balls off just about any car.
Yep. As a development and feedback driver, Newey rated him better than anyone else. Tried to get him into McLaren in 1998 instead of Coulthard but Dennis wouldn't have it.
Coulthard worked out well... lol. I was cheering on Schumacher when he was about to slap the crap out of him at Spa, '98.
