The whole Spanish player Michael Laudrup (please not another reason to have a go at Monk but it can't be ignored) exodus is strange.
I can understand Poz being kicked out as the rumours seem true, even Dragonborn said during the season that his mate had said that Poz won't play again. Canas is strange as he played in some very big games under Monk, including both Napoli legs and Everton, I then thought that he got injured. Pablo played his best football under Monk for me, but it don't think he could handle the demands of the premiership and has gone chasing the money and an easy league. Michu, less said the better, and I'm not surprised that Chico went, given the 'brick' incident. Canas and Pablo moves are strange, Poz, Michu and Chico aren't for me.
Any link any association with him and it's as if the club are rewriting the history books , he who mustn't be mentioned must have upset Monk big time .Well it's his ship now so hopefully he'll steer us into calmer waters because these last fews months have been a pain
That's poor reporting, well either that or his agent is full of crap, he hasn't been anywhere near the squad of late, and I'm sure he is part of the Spanish exit plans of Monk and Huw!.................
Swansea City star Jose Canas in negotiations to cancel contract as he looks to join Spanish exodus It seems Swansea could have to pay out to get unwanted midfielder Canas off their books, as Chico and Hernandez departures are confirmed (Jose Canas left skipper Ashley Williams frustrated on more than one occasion last season) - beside a photo Jose Canas is in negotiations to cancel his Swansea City contract , the midfielder has reportedly claimed, as the club finally confirmed the departures of compatriots Chico Flores and Pablo Hernandez to Qatar. Paperwork has been completed to seal the exits of Spanish defender Chico and midfielder Hernandez to the Middle East, Chico joining Michael Laudrup at Lekhwiya SC and Hernandez linking up with Dan Petrescu at Al Arabi. Swansea are expected to receive more than £4m for Chico and while there has been no confirmation of a fee for Hernandez, there has been suggestions it could be around half the then record £5.55m paid to Valencia in 2012. But it seems Swansea could have to pay out to get unwanted midfielder Canas off their books, with a move to Elche likely as the La Liga side look to replace the Aston Villa-bound Carlos Sanchez. Canas had been told to find a new club after Garry Monk informed the former Real Betis man he did not feature in his plans for the new Premier League season. The 27-year-old has two-years left on his contract – with wages unable to be matched by many in Spanish football. It is thought Canas had been the subject of interest from Championship clubs but any move was stopped by a want to maintain his Swansea salary. As a result, Swansea could have to pay-up the defensive midfielder who failed to convince following his Bosman move from Betis. A report in Spain has quoted Canas as saying he would be “delighted” to make the move to Elche but is “in a situation of ‘standby’”. Nevertheless, Swansea have handed Canas a squad number for the coming season with the 21 shirt given to the Spaniard. Gylfi Sigurdsson has taken the No. 23 shirt despite success while wearing the No.42 in his first spell at the club. Bafetimbi Gomis will wear the No.18, Ki Sung-Yeung has moved from No. ?? to take Chico’s No.4 and Marvin Emnes will claim the No.11 shirt vacated by Hernandez, a squad number that has previously been deemed unlucky by fans. Jefferson Montero will wear the No.20 left behind by Jonathan de Guzman after his loan stays, the Dutchman now expected to complete a £7m move to QPR.
Agree. Let him play and put himself in the shop window for January. I'd still like to know what Canas is alleged to have done as he was playing for Monk until he got injured. And Monk must be intending to play him at some point if we have given him a squad number.
Monk said Canas is unwanted in his plans , sounds like Canas wont make the bench ...otherwise if Canas plays , Monk is sending mixed messages . Going to be a pay out imo... we'll have to guess how much though..
Swansea City have completed the signing of Federico Fernandez from Napoli for an undisclosed fee. It was confirmed last week by Swansea boss Garry Monk that a financial deal had been agreed between the two clubs for the 25-year-old's services, with personal terms and a medical still to be concluded. The Argentine arrived in Wales on Monday and passed a series of medical examinations that afternoon, with a four-year contract being signed earlier today. Fernandez, who will wear the number 33 shirt at the Liberty Stadium, featured on four occasions at the World Cup this summer as Argentina reached the final.
Yeltsin Tejeda misses Evian talks to speak with Swansea Costa Rican international Yeltsin Tejeda was set to join Evian on a four year contract yesterday after a fee had been agreed with his club Saprissa. The player arrived in Geneva only to take a flight to London for talks with Swansea rather than closing the deal with Evian. ETG have told the player that he has until today to show his face or else they will abandon signing him. His agent is responsible for this shift and Swansea have yet to agree a fee with Saprissa.
