West Ham interested in Michu ? Not sure why anyone would want to go there if any other team was available as they play the worst football in the Premier League...... http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/0...line-up-6m-bid-for-swansea-city-forward-michu
Stereo, I agree, but 1. It is caught offside dont think they have got anything right. and 2. WHU come on unlesss you are 6'4' and good in the air there is no point and the price. Never going to happen.
I see The Sun are reporting that Spurs are getting rid of Gylfi and Palace and ourselves are in the running. Plus linking with a return of Sinclair!!!
Apparently we have won the race for Bafetimi Gomis - free transfer ; http://www.caughtoffside.com/2014/06/22/swansea-city-to-complete-bafetimi-gomis-signing-next-week/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=swansea-city-to-complete-bafetimi-gomis-signing-next-week Looks like a bargain - but I note that Newcastle missed out having offered 75k a week. a) how much did we offer then b) what the hell did Pardew say to him? or did he just headbutt him?
Another report about Gomis : http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footbal...swansea-on-verge-of-gomis-signing_161286.html
Then the wheels fell off but who knows ? Bafétimbi Gomis-Swansea link overplayed Get French Football News understands that France Footballâs claims today that Swansea were about to sign Bafétimbi Gomis are not exactly true, although the Welsh side has progressed in terms of talks with the out and out striker this week. Bafétimbi Gomis has yet to make a decision on his future at the time of writing. The player has a number of offers on the table, and is leaning towards a move to the Premier League. The situation is to be clearer next week.
I don't care who we get that the club wants as long as we stay within our wage structure this time and im sure jinx will make sure of this and wont pay wages that are over the top that can ruin the club if everything goes pear shape.
couple of articles linking us to Victor Moses (always liked him myself...just needs to play regular) http://www.eastgrinsteadcourier.co....alace-battle/story-21277877-detail/story.html https://www.clubcall.com/chelsea/race-on-for-chelsea-winger-1730441.html
If we sign Gomis it is highly likely we are paying him a sum greater than £75k a week. I expect to hear your criticism of Monk and the board
I think we will give him the same weekly wage as Bony but give him a good signing on fee. Whether we get him or not, can't fault the clubs ambition with this attempt.
Maybe Gomis has been impressed by how well Bony has done for us and feels he can do the same. As for his wages I can't see us breaking our salary structure but, as there's no transfer fee involved, a fat fee for his John Hancock could do the trick.
I've got no issue with a fat signing on fee to secure the quality we need sometimes....as long as the player in question is young and hungry. Gomis is 28, his signing on fee will decline with his next move....this is the optimum time for him to get the biggest one off payment of his career....if we pay several mill straight into his bank account where will his motivation come from if things are difficult early on and he doesn't click with the team? He could be content to sit on the bench taking the big wages, knowing that there would be a good chance for him to move on on the same wages down the line (as his weekly wage would fit in with our structure....which is bound to be cheaper than a lot of top level European clubs who would be happy to pay a small transfer fee and give him another chance. He has pedigree and he could be a big success. Equally he could be one of the most expensive substitutes outside the top 6/7 clubs. I think the risk of the second option is too great. For the money being talked about regarding Gomis I wish we had landed the Belgian lad or someone like that, up and coming talent.
Apparently Tottenham are looking to offload Gylfi Sigurdsson with Swansea and Palace being the interested parties. Please please please let this happen!. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/06/22/le-palace-and-swansea-line-up-move-for-spurs-midfielder-report/
I must admit, if Bony id staying I'd rather us sign Gylfi. He will add some much needed goals and creativity to our midfield. If we got them both though. I'll cream my pants Just think, Bony, Gomis, Michu and Gylfi fully fight and on form are potentially as lethal as any front 4 in the league should they all be with us.
Well if Gylfi goes to Palace he will have a season watching the ball go over his head. Love to have him back.
