How are you folks? Looks like the July meeting has become an absolute farce again with the weather. Im off to Juddmonte next month- anyone got any idea who will line up? Also- boozers in York?
Australia is being aimed at the race Toppy No idea on boozers but hey, you'll be in Yorkshire so you can't go far wrong
When will James Doyle realise that Joyuse stays 7f easily but does not pick up quickly. Yet again he gets her going too late, she needs riding right up with the front pace James, she will not fail to stay, but she may fail to not pick up quick enough from behind, how many times will you test this theory of expecting her to show a turn of foot that she simply does not possess?
Having a small dabble on 5.20 Ascot Pupil 28/1 for the Hannon yard. Ran a fair bit better than his finishing position of 18th suggests in the Brittania at Royal Ascot as he was drawn the wrong side and was 5th of 10 in that group and the 4th home that side Table Rock has since come out and won twice since including a Listed contest at HQ yesterday. Pupil, who showed decent enough form as a 2 year old, has been dropped 2lb for that run to a mark of 90 which allows him to get into this 0-90 handicap and I think the booking of Adam Kirby (1-5 for Hannon Snr and hasn't ridden for the yard since 2011) catches the eye quite a bit. This is a much easier contest than what he contested last time and at 28/1 he's certainly worth an each way bet to me.
I'd say Evanna McCutcheon is raging she took Maarek out at the 5 day stage of the July Cup. Ground has come up to his liking and there isn't a huge amount who would like the going lining up
And while I am having a rant about James Doyle not learning - before the race this time, does Rizeena not like Newmarket? and yet is running there again. I need go sit in a dark room clearly. Is there a front runner Jamie can hold up running somewhere today?
Ah, sorry Bustino, now I remember Oddy went to Croatia last year on vacation, and must have stopped-off in Salzburg on the way. Poor old Julio, wasn't his fault of course, but how long is his contract with the R's? Maybe Toronto will keep him for a while longer? Seems to be little going on with Rangers at present, compared with the madness of one to two years ago under Mark Hughes, that is?
Think Pupil bumped into a well handicapped horse there. Probably the easiest Kirby could have been on him to achieve best possible result as fav had flown. Will definitely be upped to 10f again soon and is handicapped to win races. 28s on the place isn't at all bad.
Someone alert Chuckle Towers - old boy Ponsonby has had a winner at Chester - Kings Bayonet obliges at 14/1
Gabrials Bounty 11/1 in the next at Chester. Fahey has two in the race but that useless twat Spencer is in the other one so I'm hoping the outsider of the two wins
Easiest thing to do with Spencer is lay his horse before the off then back it in running, just did that at 4.6 and 8.6 so nice free bet, he had the inside draw there and still managed to be last in a 7f race.
I love the Spencer bashing! I recall a couple of years ago he was on a fav and cruising in a 3, 4 runner rance and when he pulled the horse to make his challenge it clipped heels and fell over vowed never to back him again. How can you clip heels youve got the whole course to pass on <feckindonut> nae wonder Emma left you!!!
If you ride enough horses even the most ****e jockeys get in the winners enclosure occasionally! Joseph O Brien a perfect example!
It is not just the July meeting that the weather is screwing... Watch the never club win anything this year... Do not bet too much on Australia showing up at York. No. Changing excuses after the fact has always never sat fair with me, no matter which quarter the excuses come from. She got blocked at the bottom of the hill but she was never going to win. End of story.
