Ah now come on stick he's been found out at Group One level and barely beat Mukahadram home, whose a solid reliable horse but no superstar. Today was the day he had to step up, everything was right for him and he's failed again. Not saying he's a bad horse at all but he's more Sea Moon than Harbinger Take nowt from the filly, she was different gear! Let's hope for a decent ground Arc for the filly v Australia! What a race that could be!
Bit of money for LORD OF THE DANCE for the ladies race. Won it last year off a higher mark, have they saved it for a follow up this year? Well its their money now so lets get stuck in!
What a result for Sea the Stars too....Galileo may have competition on the sire front. Sea the Moon now Taghrooda, lovely to see that wonderful pedigree continue on isn't it?
Bluesky, I backed her in the Oaks, and Romsdal in the Derby, the latter today. Really got it horribly wrong! Taghrooda is absolute class in every respect. So absolutely calm before and after the race. Very happy for Paul Hanagan. Great ante-post bet Stick, well done!
I have to agree that it was no disgrace for Telescope to be beaten by the unbeaten Oaks winner. They went a good clip and had she not been switched from the Irish Oaks he would have won, beating the impressive Eclipse winner (who was bred for 12f but was having his first run at the disatance), with progressive and highly thought of Eagle Top 1¾l back, Trading leather, who ran so well behind Novellist in last year's race (with Cirrus Des Aigles 3¾l further back) 6l further back and Breeders' Cup Turf winner, Magician another 3l back. Derby 3rd Romsdal, beaten 4½l by Australia, was as good as 20l behind Telescope. Can't knock that form. He just came up against a super filly who, with wfa and sex allowance, was receiving 15lb. I also agree that, as I believed beforehand, he is no Harbinger.
Just drawing attention to Lightscameraaction in the 5.30 at Lingfield. This is a Gay Kellaway newcomer and that it is 9-4 in a decent enough field containing runners from Richard Hannon and Lady Cecil tells you this is a very fancied horse. It might be money worth following.
I posted after the Deby that I felt she was the more impressive of the two winners and that I felt she was special and would prove so and be the best since Ouija Board. Then because the same trainer supplements another of his own I lost all confidence. She is now unbeaten and more importantly pretty much unchallenged in four races.
Lucky 15 just for an interest and something to watch at Lingfield 6:30 - Go For Broke 4/1 7:00 - Lady Crossmar 4/1 7:35 - Reggie Perrin 4/1 8:35 - Lily Edge 11/2
Taghrooda very impressive today and yoU'd think she'll be heading to the Arc. Any thoughts on a prep race? Yorkshire Oaks feels too early ..................
Vermeille would be my route. She was superb today, and I haven't seen a filly that good since Zarkava. I am really chuffed to be going to this season Arc, and if the big guns all turn up it will be a great race. First day I have had a bet in ages and turned out rather profitable too. Now got to swerve Glorious Goodwood and its hard luck stories!
You going to the Arc Nass? And Ron too? Might have to get my arse on the Easyjet flight to Paris and meet up for a glass of Champagne ..............................
They'll serve whatever I ****ing order, I should think mate. I'm really warming to this .................... costs feck all to get in, I know a good Mercure Hotel close to the Arc de Triomphe, can't be more than 30 miutes walk to the track through the Bois de Boulogne and of course Ron can show us the delights of Paris on Saturday night
Taghrooda just like her old man- relaxed, unfussy, and just deals with whats in front of her. Well done the filly! Pleased for Paul Hanagan. Arc a possibility??
