    Ridiculous comment...you obviously don't play.

Since anyone having a bet would have backed him e/w at 1/4 odds for 7 places they are quids in.

Oh,and he's currently -4 and bogey free for his round and about to be one of the elite band of golfers who have shot 4 rounds in the 60's at The Open...I believe there are four until now.

How does all this help him win the Open? Or any Major? Becoming a bit of a "Westwood" or "Montgomorie" in my opinion.

    67 5 under. Terrible performance.

I think the lot of us will happily collect the place return.

Well done Rory. 3 out of the big 4 landed. 25 years old. Talent.

Certainly wouldn't knock Fowler. He'll win it someday and Adam Scott the same.

    Chuffed for that, great talent.

Stick, if your referring to my comment about Garcia (and Westy) I certainly stand over that. Sergio is what 36, Lee older still. Neither have it in them to win a major, both bottlers on the biggest stage, ie the majors. Be happy to be proved wrong but I don't see that happening.

Apologies for this rant if u weren't targeting me with your '**** comment'...

I can see where people are coming from regarding Garcia & Westwood, class players but a major just seems like it will be out their reach, I am hoping I am proved wrong, well my betting account is as I back Westwood every major in the hope that maybe............. Anyway with regards to Garcia and Fowler they both played fantastic golf today, no lack of bottle in their game, it was just that the damage was already done by Rory yesterday with that six shot lead.

Like Stick said it's a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinions, be a bit boring on here if we all agreed !!

Garcia has much more talent than Westwood.

    He doesn't lack bottle,as you rightly state..he just can't putt...simple as...never could,never will do...flaw in his game...but by God he never quits #rydercup

God, I'm glad I didn't comment on the golf (which I know nothing about, of course) as I would have been rightly butchered.<laugh>

(Erm, how did Byron Nelson do in the end?).

Say, Stick, what do you think of the R's chances this coming season? Have a feeling they might surprise one or two hotshot clubs, well, maybe...........

I think we will be ok. If we get Caulker and another striker. The team ethic is there this time around and will make a huge difference. Remy is a big loss at a ridiculously cheap price but we don't need mercenaries. Rio will be a huge influence just to have around the place!

Yes, Stick, completely agree. I wondered too about that Remy price; what a silly optíon/release clause in his contract that was? Only just about got their money back. Worth far more than that at today's prices. I'm not sure about him as a 'team player' though, but Remy is a loss, for sure. Hope we get Caulker, would be an important signing, and am very happy we got Rio, big positive influence IMHO.
