After sleeping on it, I have changed away from Lallana to Chrissy Marsden (Football Genius)... How could I not? His goal at Portman Road was wonderful and he will always be a cult figure for me.
Looks like the older generation have established a bit of a gap now. Still could go to the wire, but where's the wire?
Indeed, if this was the previous categories, the wire would have been reached by now. I was talking about this to a friend [of the real variety, not virtual] who comes on here so rarely he forgets his password. He said, Oh, David Armstrong of course. I appreciate that doesn't count unless he actually remembers his bloody password.
David Armstrong for me, one of the reasons we were so good in the eighties. I still get goose bumps remembering crossing the ball in for Steve Moran......
If I get my games right, I remember Jimmy Hill, no less, making such a huge point, after the match was played [Pompey-FA Cup, Fratton] that David chipped a beautiful dinked cross onto the volleying Steve, with his wrong foot [his right - Dave had a wand of a left pin]. Hill said that players should practice more with their lesser skilled foot and here was Dave giving proof that it could be done if one kept at it.
