I liked your post right up until the last line Saints alive has it right. MLT doesn't need an election, he needs a statue (him and Terry Paine)
The point about MLT needing the right manager is true though - there were plenty of games where he was pretty useless.
Funnily enough I was going to mention something along the lines of Paine needing to be an auto choice if Le Dossier stayed as an auto choice.
John Sydenham for me - great pace, ability to dribble past a fullback and a great by-line cross. Was a big fan of Tommy Jenkins too, but maybe joint second with David Armstrong.
Well I am afraid this over 40 is going Chris Marsden, such an underrated player and with the way this team is shaping we need a player like this in it.
Armstrong was a superb player, no question. He never looked fit to me and yet he had a superb engine and was actually one of the fittest. Much quicker than he looked too. I loved Chris Marsden too (similar looks!). Without him Wayne Bridge would not be in this team for sure. But, I want for Lallana. Sorry!
That's fair enough Lff, you have to go with who you think was the best. That's how it works. No complaints from me and we should all respect your opinion. . Saints Alive - ignore Lff's vote, after all he thinks Jack Cork is England's best CM
We better get the over 40s chief whip (Chilco) out and put some pressure on the John Sydenham voters to change to Dave Armstrong...
I thought democracy was a way of twisting results to suit your own gain? I must have that wrong then.
Maybe my memory isn't what it was. I could be persuaded to change with a little inducement Very different players (maybe Armstrong would be better with Tiss than Lallana for example).
I've just noticed that Nick Holmes is in this list. I assumed he'd be in the CMs. So, I'm going to change to him because if you have Tiss and Paine (and hopefully, Channon) you're going to need some workers. Still puts Armstrong in front which is fine by me.
