Its a lot to take in on first read but what great points and discussion the 9 'panelists' have given us... Superb stuff lads, top read, top thoughts and it just increases the anticipation for Tuesday... I'll be back on tonight after work to absorb more of the thoughts and questions posed by the contributors...

    Brilliant...<applause> <cracker> <cheers>

Top marks Odddy and TC for putting this together. Mine was written some time ago so one or two references are now superfluous (Cue Card/Annie Power) and TED VEALE obviously isn't considered well handicapped by the yard and misses the Grand Annual.

Excellent stuff chaps and very good reading <applause>

One thing it does highlight, is just how tricky it is finding winners at the festival, with many races having multiple choices from our forumites.

It also reminded me that I haven't yet had a bet in the Martin Pipe race - just about the only one I haven't! I agree that DP would love to win this for his dad and Vieux Lion Rouge looks a cracking bet at 12-1. That said, I felt the same last year about Gevery Chambertin, and that didn't end well <laugh>

Would point out now that it looks very likely that FIRST LIEUTENANT goes the Gold Cup route.

Last Instalment is travelling to Cheltenham today and they will make a very late decision once they have walked the course.

Question for everyone- Briar Hill: 2/1 for the Albert Bartlett- too short?!

Depends entirely on your point of view TC. He'll beat the Pipe horse. The Hendo horse needs cut. The Sherwood horse needs deep cut. I think it's an open and shut case that Briar Hill wins. Kings Palace and Champagne West to battle for places.

One that hasn't got a mention in the RSA is Nicholl's Sam Winner. I remember seeing this one fly up the hill on debut to dispatch Grandouet by 15 lengths. Though he probably hasn't gone on to fulfill the promise of that run I reckon he has a great shout on Wednesday. His 2 length defeat, conceding 3lbs to Smad Place reads well and the better ground will definitely help him. I remember Nicholls saying at the time he'd left loads to work on after that last run. He'll do for me at 14s.
