Can a sensible Spurs fan explain how Spurs have caught up with Arsenal ?

Has there been some mysterious time lapse where Spurs have suddenly won loads of major honours and played in CL for last 20 years !
    Thought not.
Let me know when Spurs actually win something other than the "We finished above Arsenal for the first time in 20 years Trophy" or the "We were top of the League for 13 minutes Trophy"

Highlights of both Spurs Trophy wins are part of the Spurs Glory Year 2106 DVD available in all Spurs shops.
You can find them in the aisle next to the black and white newsreel of their last league win in 1961, or the Betamax tape of their last FA Cup win in 1991

We've been not far behind you in the league for quite a few years now.

Given respective budgets, wage bills, etc, you should be way agead of us.

As I've already told you, nothing is certain in football. Using your logic you should be way ahead of Leicester, you spend more on transfers, wages, budgets etc yet they are ahead of you and about to win a trophy that you've not had your hands on since 1961.

As the time approaches, can anyone remember who the Gooner was going on about
all that 'finishing points total' spread betting stuff here ??

Would like to revisit that now and see what was predicted vs what is happening.

    Round and round we go!!

We've done this several, posts ago. If and when Leicester can spend several seasons up there challenging us, you might have a point. But nobody knows if Leicester can do that.

Cue An outraged Flossie any minute now!...

That was me and not one Spurs fan had the kahoonas to make a fun bet !
If they had backed their team then they would have won lots of Kudos (there was no money to be won) but alas they ducked out*

*unlike many Leicester fans who had the balls to back their team to win the league @ odds of 5000-1 !
The papers don't seem to mention any Spurs fans having backed their team to win the league so I guess they didn't have the balls to put their money where there mouth is.

    Flexible!
Like all markets prices fluctuate, can go up can go down, and depends on supply and demand, market trends, and other influences.
Current price is 5-6 Spurs over Arsenal so you want to have a fun bet ?
did you back Spurs at beginning of the season or didn't you have the balls ?

Well, it started with your 4-0 loss to Southampton and your form since then hasn't been up to much... <whistle>

Did you not say what you thought the end difference would be at that time ??
If so, give me the number as I want to see how it compares with a basic stats analysis
of the previous decade (and possibly further) .

You can go through my old posts if you like to find opening price but from memory it was based around a 10 point gap ! Check out the points gap over the last 20 years to see

Exactly, you are going round in circles. The same logic applies to Spurs. If and when Spurs can spend several seasons up there finishing above us, then you might have a point.

I don't believe this!! It's like a broken record!! The plain difference is that we have been right behind you for a number of years. Leicester have just come from being on the brink of relegation. Our performance has been fairly consistent. Nobody knows if Leicester is a one off or not.

    All clear now!?

I think the super mods need to set up a new board for the Gooners and Spuds to post this **** in private. You're ****ing tedious fellas.

My apologies. I now give up trying to spell out the blindingly bleeding obvious to Piskie. I'm Sure he knows what's being said, but is so ****ing pedantic that he won't ever admit it.

Then again Stan, as soon as the dust settles and we have something resembling a normal forum for some good debate, you will probably throw a spanner into the works and set it off again, or someone else will and off we go again.

Save the drama for somebody else. All you've spelled out is that Spurs have been behind us and for one season in two decades you might actually finish above us, with no guarantee whatsoever that you can repeat it season upon season.

What part of getting ever closer don't you understand? One season means nothing, a path over several seasons is a trend.
