Given that West Ham went out in their first tie last time and failed to score a goal, probably not, eh?

West Ham have improved since their last European outing, so there's every likelihood that they might do better in the EL if they qualify this season. It's a bit boring seeing the Spuds continually crash out at the early stages and embarrass themselves and the English leagues. I think many people would prefer to see London represented by the Hammers.

On the topic of the EL, seeing as Everton have gone further than the Spuds, we can also now say that power has shifted from N17 to both clubs on Merseyside. By the end of the season it could be Liverpool, Everton, West Ham and Southampton to where the power from N17 has shifted.

Don't forget Swansea and Stoke Piskie.

I expect at least half a dozen clubs to overtake them during the next ten years whilst they struggle to pay for their ground.

Going further in a competition means that power has shifted to that team and going out early means that particular club shouldn't qualify?
Spurs got to the QF of the Champions League in 2010/11 and Arsenal have gone out earlier than that in every season since, plus that one itself.

West Ham haven't improved since their last European outing, either.
They reached a cup final and finished 9th that season. They're currently looking at a similar finish and no cup final. That's not better.

You're wasting your time, PNP. Let him stew in his own little world. He's desperately looking for affirmation of his own warped views, and the Spammer seems only too happy to feed them.

I'm afraid your one brief foray into the CL won't atone for Arsenal's superior dominance over you. After all I'm only using HIAG's logic of a team finishing ahead another as the measure. When it comes to Arsenal and Spurs, you lag well behind us in all competitions and have done for decades. It's not even fair on Spurs to compare themselves alongside Arsenal, such is the gulf.

No, what we're asserting here (according to HIAG's logic) is that a team going further or finishing higher, meaning that the power shift has happened, would dictate that Everton, by virtue of going further in the EL have completed a power shift over Spurs.

It remains to be seen whether Southampton will finish above the Spuds but at this moment it looks quite likely and then of course there is always West Ham who also may complete the power shift over the spuds too.

I'm simply applying HIAG's logic in appraising this situation <ok>

Yes, well as I've tried - and apparently failed - to explain to you many times, HIAG's "logic" in this case would have been specifically designed to wind you, and some of your less perceptive Gooner mates up!...

You're being completely inconsistent again, Piskie. I can't say that I'm vaguely surprised.
You don't seem to know how to judge anything, so you apply other peoples' standards, then abandon them when they don't suit you.
That's not very logical, is it?

Stick to blindly following your hero. What Would Wenger Do? Probably **** about with his coat for a bit, in all honesty.

I am far from wound up, I assure you. I enjoy some good banter, but this thread has turned into an infantile exchange of jibes. I was merely trying to save PNP from wasting his time trying to redeem it.

I can see you're wound up too, but I think you need to take up your disdain with this rationale with HIAG.

Also, mentioning Logic is a sore point tonight, what with the beaming up of Leonard Nimoy

You seem to have difficulty spotting that in others <ok>

  16. As I have said a few times, now, something has happened, but I cannot say, for certain, what it is.

Has there been a shift? Possibly, but I am going to do the sensible thing and wait and see. Some are bolder than I am about this, but I have always been taught to be cautious.

Do try and keep up HIAG.

Of course something has happened, power has shifted from N17 to both clubs on Merseyside now.

Currently Southampton also look like they will complete the power shift over Spurs and we could also see the same happen for West Ham.

I guess the questions to ask now are where will players like Kane and Erikson end up, when Spurs, trying to keep up with Liverpool and Southampton and paying for a new stadium inevitably find that they will have to sell their best players.

I could envisage Liverpool taking Kane and he'd fit in well with the likes of Sturridge and Sterling. Liverpool are no strangers to paying big money for players and no doubt Levy will be keen to cash in again as he does with his prize assets.

  19. I heard Kane talking to Adrian Durham on TalkSport - yesterday, I think it was - and it was clear just how much that lad loves Spurs.

Sure, he might move on later in his career, but I am confident that he be with us for a very long time.

Here's to him humbling Arsenal again, next season, eh, lads!

Looking at your past form on player predictions (Bale won't be leaving etc) it means that Kane is off this summer lol
