Born in Sunderland. Brought up in Horden and spent my school holidays at my Uncles in a fairly remote cottage in Teesdale. Loved it. Worked at hotels in and around Durham which is my favourite city. Moved to Work in Carlisle and then to Grimsby and 40 yrs later still remain in the area. The north east is still home and I still visit when I can.

Poor leadership in the NE has let us down, the NW seems currently to be far better represented, from a distance anyway, that's how it looks to me. Always voted Labour but did vote for the Gang of Four when they broke away, as I always trusted Shirley Williams. Crashed in flames, but not her fault imo., and a center party did work later under New Labour until Blair got carried away by the American Hawks.
