Would it be possible for us to claim that Palace have been doing this for a year now and that's why the beat us in the play off final? We could then sue the league or FA (take your pick) for an entire season's worth of Premier league revenue.........
If Ian Moody hadn't been at Cardiff before going to Palace they wouldn't be making such claims... Its just the owner being bitter...
A glimpse into the future? With the scummers winning their way back into the FL, will this be the standard in Div 2 next season? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IbrNmKfbHH4
Today, a title could be won by a Hertfordshire club. If Hemel win and Chesham don't, ex-Hornet Jordan Parkes will be lifting that trophy (Southern League Premier Division) at their home game on Monday which is against Chesham! HH have 96 points and a GD of +88 but aren't already promoted, as Chesham are 5 points behind them with 3 games to play. Promotion means that they will be in the Conference South next season, and if they regularly play as well as they did in both matches of their FA Cup tie against Sutton earlier this season, they have a chance of still being a Conference South side when the final placings are decided at the end of next season.
No great surprise, but Man.Utd have sacked David Moyes. Failure to get into the Champions League will have cost the club a fortune and him his job.
I am not sure he ever had the support of the players and I suspect Moyes had to get them at least to one final and the Champions league to keep his job.
This makes me sick. Sir A jumped ship and left his successor with a team to rebuild. 7th in the prem most would be delighted with that and even the mighty Man United can't be successful everything year. I hope Moyes screws them, so much for Manchester Uniteds famed loyalty. Moyes might not have been the right man found the job but he did not appoint himself, sir A did!
Apparently Sir Alex will be allowed to have to a say again! I quite agree it was a pretty average squad by Man U standards Moyes got given - then not helped by the board messing up potential transfers.
Let's not cry for Moyes too much - he will walk away with (according to the BBC) "only" £5m. He will also walk into another job in the Premiership within weeks - certainly during the close season. Only his pride will be hurt longer term.
Nobody was going to succeed in the wake of Sir Alex - it was always a poison chalice and if Moyes did not know that he should have. He gets upmteen millions for less than a year's work and as others have said will soon be in work again. I think he also did particularly badly. Did United not win the league by a massive 11 points last year - what a terrible squad that must have been. I have never rated Moyes - he never did much for Everton - another big club - Ok maybe they did not have the money of a United but even so his achievements were at best mediocre for a club like that.
I think one of his biggest down falls was that the team lost the never say die attitude they had - I don't know how many matches they won in the last 10 minutes, hell even the last 90 seconds, under SAF but I doubt it was many under Moyes and there wasn't that same urgency. In one game, possibly at home to Liverpool, Moyes said "we've got to make it hard for them". I'm sure the fans loved hearing that. He is good at setting up teams that are hard to beat (and they still have the 2nd best away record this season) but I think he lacks the nous to take risks and go out and win a game rather than not get beaten. Also when they did concede there was no back up plan. It will be interesting to see who goes there next - it's still not a bad job!
Enough of this Man United vivisection .... I think it's high time we all congratulate Leicester City on their wonderful Championship title winning achievement
Already done it on the proper place - the Leicester forum! Joking apart you and Burnley have easily been the most consistent teams this year so fair play.
Cheers Dan ... has been a wonderful season, not so much the results, but more so the type of free-flowing, pacey, attacking football we have been attempting (and largely succeeding) to play ...
