There was a time where a conviction for tax evasion would get you a seat in the House of Lords.....

Given that it looks like the FA for once are going to see sense and say no to the change of name for Hull, what will it mean for them if the owner carries out his threat and walks away?

As a side issue, if we ever had owners who wanted to re-brand WFC in any way, what would you tolerate? I'd definitely be ok with the badge changing to a hornet but I'm not sure whether I'd be happy about changing anything else.

I do not think a conviction for tax fraud in Italy is anything to worry about. The people who run the FA and FL do not understand anything that has to travel over water to be seen.

Watford Hornets not Watford Golden Boys or Yellows.

No doubt a change of name would depend on the commercial interests of a new owner. For example if Richard Branson were to buy the Pozzos out we might become Watford Virgins. Mind you, there might be a Trades Descriptions issue there.

I'm not sure I would be happy if the shirts were changed to cerise with lime and lemon polka dots because those colours are popular in the Asian or Australian markets.

He's landed on his feet there though Barry. He said he wants global exposure and a FA Cup Semi with a very strong possibility of a final (against Arsenal perhaps)- would be massive in Asia so he can probably lose face relatovely gracefully. From what I gather the huill fans actually like him - he bought 2 class strikers in the window even when they were allegedly at loggerheads.

I wouldn't want a hornet on the badge as I like the hart but, to be honest, if Cardiff are still getting full houses despite going from a blue kit to a red kit then who knows what an owner could get way with......

No thanks to any of those. We are Watford FC, plain and simple. I have no problems with a change of nickname as my support predates the (somewhat artificial) choice of "Hornets" in the early 60s.

I don't know. Reverting to West Herts would finally stop people thinking that we are in London.

Games on 12th April to be put back for 7 minutes as a mark of respect for those who tragically died at Hillsborough 25 years ago.

We are at Millwall - why do I get the sense of feeling it might not go down so well with the New Den locals.

Unless they have a silence (and even then Millwall are no more likely to disrespect it than loads of other clubs) I can't see how it would make any difference - it's just a slightly later kick off time.

Mark, more accurately it's matches from Friday 11th to Monday 14th. At 6 minutes past, there'll be a minutes silence as the match at Hillsborough was stopped at 3.06. Not sure that some Wigan fans are going to be too happy about it as the timing for getting trains back from Euston after their semi was going to be tight before this was decided.

True but I know there have been issues between Liverpool and Millwall in the past albeit no worse than other clubs as you say.

Probably but there was an allegation of racisim and the usual songs between the 2 sides last time they met at the Den I think...

Anyway in reality those 96 who died were just football supporters (generally quite young) going to enjoy a game but never got the chance to even return home.

They deserve the upmost respect regardless of what people might think about the team they supported.
