Looks as if Leicester's money problems are starting to bite and the fans are now turning on the manager. http://m.thisisleicestershire.co.uk/story.html?aid=19582385
I read this and couldn't help thinking that we (or the Pozzos) will get the blame if it comes to pass. If Celtic bought a team in England it would get them access to the English league system. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jul/28/gilford-park-celtic-nation-kevin-lynch
Christian Benitez, the former Birmingham striker has died aged 27 Sad news and seemed like a crowd favourite at St Andrews. Sure our fans will respect any minutes applause/silence as usual. As for Bale - well he might be a small fish in a big pond at Madrid rather than the main man.
I'm not exactly sure where the connection is - this is more akin to the rise of Gretna FC than anything else. And don't forget what happened to Gretna when their millionaire owner died... Although you're probably right - we're still labelled as 'all that is wrong with English football', so the unthinking masses will put one and one together and come up with three (two and two would be too hard for them).
I do soemtimes wonder whether now we have this label the fans should have some fun and act like the animals you see at other clubs. Makes me laugh - I can think of at least 10 clubs who have doene far more to damage the image of english football on and off the pitch thatn we could ever dream of.
It looks as if Brum are trying to get their wage bill down as well as Leicester. Marlon King being off-loaded. http://www.tiredandweary.co.uk/2013...s&utm_campaign=blues-are-ready-says-lee-clark
Good old Marlon - some people never learn... http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/5040717/Footie-thug-King-held-on-hit-and-run.html
Rodgers wants loyalty from suarez, but sends "loyal" reina on-loan to Napoli without telling him first. Double standards? Guy is still a CHUMP.
Liverpool and Rodgers are a marriage made in hell and both thoroughly deserve each other. I would absolutely love to see them go even further backwards this season.
This must surely go down as the quote of the year...... Joe Hart being interviewed in the lead-up to tonight's Bayern Munich v Man City match on BT Sport Interviewer: Joe, how would you describe City's football style under Pellegrini? Joe: (thinks for 20 seconds with shocked look on face) To be honest, I don't know much about football....
Udinese winning 3-0 at HT in Bosnia - Europa League qualifying round 1st leg. No goals from Vydra - not even sure if he's playing...
3-1 to Udinese with 5 mins left. Vydra has a squad number of 99, but I cannot find out if he playing. While casting my net around I tried firstrow streams. It is there, but very bad quality. As quite a few use them to watch Watford games, I wonder what the ruling issued by the High Court to the UK ISPs to block FirstRow will have. I think that as I am outside the UK it will make no difference, but with the multitude of domain names they use it will be difficult to enforce. Of course it is quite likely that someone will come up with the reverse of Expat Shield, the device that most people out here use to watch TV from the Beeb or ITV than they don't want us to see.
It already exists OFH, you can get proxies that will allow you to watch it. They can still get round it by creating new domain names/redirecting you, it won't stop people accessing it. It's just people making laws without understanding how the internet works...
Coventry have gone into liquidation. Talk of a points deduction of up to 25-30, or best case scenario 15.
What is the difference for Coventry City? They had administration where outside people were supposed to run the club, but liquidation to me shows everything is dead.
They're in a right mess - and the Ricoh Arena owners have dragged Northampton into the mire too - taking them to court for'inducing Coventry to play their home games at Sixfields'. Lends new meaning to their nickname 'The Sky Blues'. Meanwhile, we are still 'all that is wrong with English football'.
Cov statement; http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/club-statement1-020813-962428.aspx Seems they had the CVA rejected. Not sure what the council have to gain by rejecting it as now they may get nothing at all
