Anyone else find the goalkeeper's attempt at saving Pirlo's free kick against Mexico a bit odd? He seemed to pull his hand away at the last minute. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22928626
Its a strange one. He seems resigned to the fact he isnt getting near it and is more concerned with not hurting himself when he lands.
That interview with Joe Kinnear. You have to hear it to believe it. Makes one grateful to be in the hands of the Pozzos! http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...-football-joe-kinnear-rubbishes-alan-par-1998
The guy is clearly a few puppie short of a pet shop. He thinks he is a demigod and that he is the best thing since sliced bread. Its a disaster waiting to happen.
I actually pity some of the toon fans. My mates who are toon supporters however, will be receiving numerous emails and texts
tbh as that interview was broadcast before any confirming announcement from the club, I fully expected NUFC to say, "We don't know what he's talking about! He's made this whole thing up!" I can only think this is Mike Ashley's attempt at getting Pardew to renage on his very long contract!
Already criticised the fans and some players plus said he is going to be in charge of transfers which won't please Pardew or the Carr guy that has done all the scouting to good effect. Cannot see this ending too well for the Geordies.
Sad for Geordie fans - as they had no input to the appointment, but Mike Ashley will have to face the consequences of his stupidity. Sad (and embarrassing) to think that Kinnear was brought up in Watford - not exactly an endorsement for the town.
I spoke to one of my colleagues who is a Newcastle fan about this. He seemed a bit baffled by it, and hopes that this isn't going to involve Kinnear trying to steamroller everything.
I suspect Ashley would have been forced out but for the fact Newcastle would be in serious trouble without his millions...
What a way to find out that you've been sacked - handed a note by technicians whilst commentating a match on national television - I would have thought Brighton would have told Poyet first rather than let the world and his dog know before him.
Probably as much to do with how they perceived Poyet's comments previously. Not that Poyet actually said anything wrong, but this is them getting their own back... live by the media, die by the media. Lack of class. Brighton, disappointing indeed!
Not a huge fan of Poyet's, but didn't deserve to find out like that. He'll have plenty of job offers though The funny thing is, even though the club treated him like that, there will still be no end of managers applying for the job!
I wonder if you will all be shedding a tear or two at this news? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23056298
I notice that Ipswich have signed three players from Bristol City. Signing so many players from a relegated team seems either high risk or indicative of a manager with an ego that says he is better than the manager of the relegated team.
An interesting article about foreign owners rebranding a club - in this case Hull City. http://twohundredpercent.net/?p=23752
That would be ironic if they were rebranded as they are in a city which has long-standing RL clubs in Superleague that haven't added something to the end of their name. (London Broncos and Catalan Dragons don't count as they're relatively new clubs) Although, adding anything to the end of Hull Kingston Rovers would be ridiculous. Anyone else see that DG may be going there on a season long loan? (Hull City, not Hull KR )
