    Obvious really

    We sack managers when they do not perform to our requirement

    The rest of the pyramid only sack managers when they have done well

    Chelsea sack managers when they have won something

    Another training session for England .

    Opposition aren’t much but some excellent goals by England.

    Ruthless .

    Flipping heck - the Hampden pitch is nearly unplayable. Did the referee not notice the rain?

    Not complaining though - McGregor gives Scotland an early lead...

    Match suspended by the ref due to surface water - which begs the question, why did he allow it to start?
    20 minutes delay while ground staff try to brush the water off.

    Doesn’t seem to be doing much good really.

    Potential replay tomorrow at St Mirren !

    Finally underway again - pitch still looks sodden.

    I think there are more goals in the match - Scotland certainly should have had at least one more - most unlike McGinn to miss an opportunity right in front of goal like he did.

    Porteous heads over the bar from six yards when it probably would have been easier to score. Scotland well on top though, leading 2-0.

    Final score 2-0. Georgia awarded a dubious penalty in stoppage time - but missed it.

    Scotland's defence looked really solid - even playing my pet hate to perfection - playing the ball out from the back. Maybe Porteous could give our defenders a few lessons on how to do it properly...

    Chelsea must be loving this new Saudi league.

    Managed to off load about 3/4 players to them now.

    Wonder if they'd be interested in Fletcher or Quina?

    Good one - we'd almost certainly get back what we paid for him.

    On a completely different note - I just remembered that the rules regarding penalties change on 1st July- and probably not for the better as they do seem to heavily favour those taking the penalties - certainly not the goalkeepers.

    Goalkeepers

    1. will not be allowed to touch the posts, crossbar or the net before kicks are taken;

    2. must not delay the execution of a penalty - eg throw the ball away or wander along the goal line;

    3. must not unfairly distract the taker - presumably by staring at him or jumping around & waving his arms like a clown;

    4. must not show behaviours that fail to show respect - presumably by not celebrating wildly if a penalty is missed.

    As I said, heavily favouring the kickers - no mention of the numerous little tricks they get up to to put goalkeepers off or fool them into diving early, such as stop/start run ups or pretending to take the kick then passing to a team mate.

    Those suits in FIFA need to take a long hard look at themselves.
