Big win for Middlesborough - puts pressure on Sheff United in 2nd. Massive must win game on Monday then.
Barcelona facing charges of bribing referees. I thought they had been doing it for years... https://www.forbes.com/sites/tomsan...eing-decisions-werent-made-against-itreports/
Ian Hollowhead has been interviewed for the vacant managerial position at Motherwell - I thought he had left football for good when he resigned from Grimsby 2 or 3 years ago?
But they all seem to come back don't they - Warnock, Roy, Big Mick. Probably Big Sam at some point too. One last pay day and saves having to go shopping or do something with the wife. Mind you if Ian Holloway still lives in the St Albans area long trek to Motherwell. Chelsea fans might point to an infamous Champions league semi final a few years back when they were denied 3/4 penalties. Even tonight could say Barca got away with a foul on Rashford when he was on goal.. It's happened in Italy so probably be the same elsewhere. Just our refs are rubbish/inconsistent for everyone.
Man U next to get billionaire owners potentially from Qatar and no doubt their fans will be celebrating outside Old Trafford if the take over happens.
Very sad tragic news after there was hope he might be alive too RIP. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64687384
The joys of watching football in Australia - MacArthur v Newcastle Jets match interrupted by extreme heat, heavy wind, torrential rain and then lightning. Not once, but twice - and they're still waiting for half time. No fun for the fans - Campelltown Stadium doesn't have much in the way of cover for them. https://keepup.com.au/news/lightnin...-League Men clash, the pitch on Saturday night.
I see Lee Mason has been sacked for his error in the Arsenal v Brentford game and I guess fairly so as it's not his first error plus was a very basic one. Is the guy who drew the wrong lines in the Palace v Brighton game going to be sacked too though? Or has Mason gone because the decision was against one of the big boys and he isn't that young anyway so easier to get rid.
Given his mistake-ridden refereeing history, perhaps he should never have been employed as VAR in the first place. Whoever sanctioned his appointment should be considering his own position too.
True - wrong man for the job in the first place. Guess that was Mike Riley who has been replaced by Howard Webb. Seems more willing to take action and make sure there is some responsibility. Maybe its because he was a top level ref at International level so has higher standards?
Top of the Premiership since Ronaldo left Manchester United? It’s Manchester United. Proves the point that one player, no matter how good, if they are not a team player, you don’t have a team.
Strange quote from their chief executive - "after seeing the team slip from playoff contenders to one being drawn into a relegation battle, the board felt it had to act. There is no doubt Neil inherited a difficult situation" Being playoff contenders was a difficult situation?
